well the potthead in me took over. great name whoever came up with that, half of you have the same avatar, so i don't know who is who.

i loved the end, many hated it, but i thought it was great.

and i want to go into more. but how do you do the spioiler thing?
blah blah what you want spoiled here [ /spoiler] (except take out the space between the [ and the / so the end looks like this [/spo... still can't finish it or this will all be spoiled).

Hope that made sense.

Thank you. (And we have the same name, so you should have caught that!) :D

Pretty cool.

Harry Potter's Dumbledore Is Gay

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix author J.K. Rowling has shocked fans of the boy-wizard series by stating that character Albus Dumbledore as gay. The writer revealed the truth of the Hogwarts school headmaster's sexuality at New York's Carnegie Hall on Friday as part of her American book tour. When asked by an audience member if Dumbledore had found "true love," she replied, "Dumbledore is gay," adding he was in love with his rival Gellert Grindelwald, who he once beat in a battle between good and bad wizards long ago. She says, "Falling in love can blind us to an extent. (Dumbledore was) horribly, terribly let down."

Yeah, this revelation is securing a place for Harry in Queer studies departments all across the country, no doubt. I wonder, though, what would have been the reaction to a less asexual character coming out of the closet.

I'm sure Hagrid is many a gay man's fantasy...he is the ideal bear.

I said something similar to my kids, and they agreed. You can't just go adding crap after the fact. It actually really irritates me. If she wanted it to be that way, she should have included it somewhere. Bleh.

Who cares? The fact that this is getting so much pub on this site and around the world shows we have a long way to go as a society.

I don't care that he's gay--don't get me wrong there--I just wish she'd have included it in the book. The fact that she seemed only to be comfortable enough to mention it after the fact, as opposed to actually IN the book, shows we have a long way to go as a society, imho.

I personally don't care what his orientation is, either way.

Put em on an ipod. Listen away. That's how I read most my books (other than HP, but I have it on audio too because Jim Dale is an incredible reader).
My mp3 player died this summer & I haven't replaced it yet. Also, I can't do ANYTHING else if I'm trying to listen to something. I honestly don't know when I'd have that kind of time. How much does it run on audio? Can that be limewired?

I'm almost NEVER in the car alone...most of my driving involves taking the kids to school & picking them up.

I'm not trying to make excuses--I'm really not. I've been working out a little bit more often, so I could then, but I really think I like my music--keeps me goin', you know? Oh, well, it's all moot until I replace my mp3 player, anyway.

edit: I immediately went to woot to check the woot-off...the zune is up right now. I think God's telling me something, since I haven't checked it all day. Gotta figure out pretty quick if I can swing that this paycheck.
