I don't know why anyone could get down on the Harry Potter books. Getting kids to read is difficult in this day and age. I would cry tears of joy if I ever had to say, "Stop reading and go to bed"

J.K. Rowling is an incredible author. I don't care if the Harry Potter books are considered "children's books", they are just fun to read.

She mixes suspense, humor, and extremely colorful language in her books that make them so entertaining.

/total book geek as a kid. I used to read by flashlight way after bedtime. I'd have been all over these when I was younger. My kids like reading too, but not like I did. Of course, if I had a ps2 when I was younger, I might not have been such an avid reader.

I'm still holding our for some "R" rated movies and books. Harry starts living life outside of Hogwards with his magic wand. Fighting bad guys, doing chicks, nursing wounds, bullying lesser wizards, gambling, drinking, starting up his own faction of wizards.

Or they could make a sitcom about it in the mold of 'Head of the Class' where Harry goes back to subtitute teach at Hogwarts :( (well that kinda sucks)

I figured correcting the title would help derail some of the theories...

what discriminating palate you have, nez.

Not at all. I do all of my personal reading on the John. They cater to people like me........"Volumes 12 for Toilet Reading" or something like that.

People like using the rest room at my house......I have very interesting books.

Final Harry Potter book due out in July
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070201/ap_en_ot/people_rowling

LONDON - " Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," the last of seven installments of the boy wizard's adventures, will be published July 21, author J.K. Rowling said Thursday.

Rowling announced the publication date on her Web site.

Bloomsbury, her British publisher, said it would publish a children's hardback edition, an adult hardback, a special gift edition and an audio book on the same day.

Scholastic Children's Books, the U.S. publisher, said it would offer a hardback edition at a suggested retail price of $34.99, a deluxe edition at $65.00 and a reinforced library edition at $39.99.

Bloomsbury noted that this year is the 10th anniversary of the publication of the first "Harry Potter" book in the phenomenally successful series.

The "Potter" books have sold 325 million copies worldwide and been translated into 64 languages, Bloomsbury said.

The last book, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," sold 2,009,574 copies in Britain on the first day of its release, Bloomsbury said.

The Potter franchise is so important to the company's earnings that it announced the publication to the London Stock Exchange.

Bloomsbury shares were up 2.2 percent to $4.40 after the announcement.
