I guess posting this on the Cardinals board wont work huh?

I have been pleasntly suprised with this guy.

It is nice to think we have a guy like that to bring off the bench when we have Amare back...

Getting Harvey was a steal. I have no idea why he got into the coach's dog house in Orlando, but getting him in exchange for Archibald and a swap of 2nd round picks is just amazing.

The Suns really missed Bo early in the season, but Harvey brings some of the same style of play PLUS he actually has some offensive ability. At pay rate of under $600,000, he is easily the most productive player per dollar spent on the team.

it was a really good trade for the suns. i've always liked harvey and was actually surprised he hasn't been better in the nba.

i'd call it a great trade ('cuz we really didn't give up anything of value), but can you really call the acquisition of a role player a "great trade?"

i like all the subtle role player trades we've consummated this year. white and harvey will compliment our studs better than big jake and bo now and, more importantly, in the future.

Hopefully we can resign White to a more reasonable contract after this season. Something around 2.5-3 million a season would be a lot better for a backup center. I'd actually like them to sign him for less, but he'd already be taking a 50% paycut if he signed in that range.

Something for nothing is always great and getting a productive player at Harvey's price is a major plus. Bo cost 10 times as much.

White has another year after this one on his deal. So we won't be resigning him yet.

Harvey on the other hand has an expiring contract, I wonder if the suns are going to try an resign him next year.

I would think if they should be able to keep him for under $1 million. I was suprised he did not generate greater interest last summer. I suspect it is because he is only 6'8" and lacks an outside shot.

Isnt he under his rookie contract?

Shouldnt we have an option to add one more year to his contract?

Who?

White is in his like 6th year. Harvey signed as a FA with Orlando this summer I thought, so I dont think his rookie contract is still up. Although I am not for sure

As far as I can tell, Harvey will be a free agent this summer. He may attract a bit more interest this summer than last, but I can't see his price going much over $1 million.

One of the reasons FJ got into trouble with Brian was his public criticism of trading Bo. Obviously Bo was terribly expensive for a role player with minimal offensive skills, but his absence hurt the team chemistry. Harvey brings some of the same energy, but not at a cap killing price.
