Chris Jackson = Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf

He's currently playing the Saudi league. Guy was a fruit cake. Wouldn't be surprised if he joined the Taliban some day.

Has taurets (sp) syndrome, says converting to Muslim helped him deal with his illness.

No...Nash was billed as the next John Stockton. A pure point guard for the future. Not some undersized shooter who had no chance of making it big in the NBA.

I never heard the Stockton comparison with Nash until after many years in the league, especially after he arrived a second time in Phoenix. All I remember about Nash's selection when drafted was that he was billed as a "safe pick."

The first time they played, Nash introduced himself to Stockton and out of respect told Stockton he didnt start the comparisons himself.

Curry carried Davidson on his back like he was Gorilla Monsoon. Anybody who can pick up a team and lead like that is okay in my book

He wouldn't that was just a borderline racist comment insinuating that by being Muslim and living in Iran he's going to become a murderer.

I haven't done my homework on Curry..at all.
So he's projected as a combo guard i would imagine right? Good shooter, can put the ball on the floor, floor leader, great attitude but a tweener?
Can he guard people?

Wasn't he the consolation prize after Jerry West snapped Kobe two picks ahead of ours via Divac?

He could be Arenas or he could be House. House has a ring and played a pretty good sized part in getting that ring. Arenas is an all-star caliber player. Seems win-win to me. Jason Terry is another example of someone who made it.

.. Curry is a GREAT shooter, maybe in a few years time, up to RayRay or Kobe's standard. But this guy is a point guard, nash can teach him a few tricks and he could be the next deron Williams..

Hey, I thought of two other smallish and succesful SGs known for their shooting.

Hershey Hawkins and .... Steve Kerr?!?

This kid can flat out shoot. He has one of the nicest shots I have seen in a long time. His range is incredible. He steps a foot or two behind the three point line and makes it look like a free throw. He is also able to get to the basket better than I thought he could.

Very nice. He reminds me a little of Kevin Johnson the way he effortlessly moves off picks and changes speeds to get to the rim when penetrating. His smooth quick release is definately impressive.

or it could be a reaction to the time he was suspended for by the league for failing to stand for the national anthem stating that the US flag was a symbol of oppression and noting that the US has a long history of tyranny

guy had a history of being a bit unstable and a little bit free with the gums aside from his obvious disease

i don't think gad really expects him to be bombing any buildings in the near future, but merely pointing out he's a little out there in a yusef islam kind of way

as far as curry he very well could be a hersey hawkins / jeff hornacek kind of guy as his stroke is that pure and his bb IQ is strong

or he could be overpowered

makes it fun watching the transition

Has there ever been a guy like Curry that made it in the NBA? Reggie Miller comes to mind! ;)

i'm not sure if curry will be able to play the same style as reggie, who could shoot over guys

maybe his jumping can help

but what I remember the most about reggie (aside from the big shots) is that he did such a great job at using his screens, getting just a little bit of separation and shooting over a defender often at odd angles ..... he never seemed to spot up, but just drilled tough shots

He's going to be developed as a PG. For all his shooting histrionics its his court sense and vision that makes him special.

I would imagine the idea is to have him and the 6'4 Dragic in the same backcourt as a multiple PG offense.

The one benefit for Curry would be Nash staying to help him learn the nuances of playing PG. Many thought the same of Nash and thats why he was playing the off guard role to KJ his first couple years.

He developed pretty damn well and it was because he worked on his game all the time. They say the same about Curry. There are people I respect who say after Griffin he has the highest upside and is most likley to become a stud.

And we got both of them;)
