Reggie Miller is 6'7
Stephen Curry is 6'2

I think Stephen Curry will be do just fine in the NBA.

Here's a thought. If the Suns get Curry might they package him in a trade to NY for Lee. Curry does not strike me as a PG the Suns would covet.

NY would be so peeved they might not do it.

Umm no, Ktar was reporting even before the draft that the 3 players the Suns absolutely want were Curry, Flynn and Hill.

I look at Curry as a just-slightly-less-athletic KJ with a much better shot. (Even though KJ was nails with the mid-range jumper.)

Sounds good to me.

Oh he is definitely less athletic than KJ. He is, however, an amazing shooter with unlimited range and extremely quick release, and he can get to the hoop.
My ONLY concern is whether he will be able to stay in front of opposing PGs on the defensive end. He claims that he can, but I am not buying it until I see it.
I know he will never be a defensive stopper, but he really needs to be competent and stay in front of the opposing PGs. Either way, he can't be worse than Nash.

I'm excited about this kid. I've missed Nash's sweet stroke the last year or two now. We could use another long range bomber to spread the floor.

i'm not sure if curry will be able to play the same style as reggie, who could shoot over guys

maybe his jumping can help

but what I remember the most about reggie (aside from the big shots) is that he did such a great job at using his screens, getting just a little bit of separation and shooting over a defender often at odd angles ..... he never seemed to spot up, but just drilled tough shots

I think Curry's ceiling is some hybrid of a KJ-CP3-Bibby type PG (scoring PG with good PnR passing and transition/open court play), and a Reggie Miller type (dead-eye volume outside shooter).

He's less athletic than a KJ/CP3, but his deep range and quick release shot are better. Have you seen his highlights? He woud drop 20 on a good college team, filled with bigger players, with two hands in his face all night without breaking a sweat. While shooting 45% or better. I haven't seen that pure of a shot with that quick of a release since Reggie Miller. You would constantly expect him to get blocked and the shot would go in. Amazing to watch.

Because he's shorter than his dad and Reggie, he'll have to learn to be a good PnR/open court PG. Thal'll be his make-or-break thing. If he can do that, he'll explode on a team that runs the full court game. If not, he'll probably still have a long career as a short volume SG (like Hornecek type 2 guard).

For the sake of the league, about the best place besides NY with D'Antoni for Curry to go is the Suns. They can school him very well in the ways of the open court PG. It's what they have done for a long time.

Don't think so. Curry is exactly the kind of gem the Suns would love to groom as the next great Phx PG.

It seems everyone is deadset on him being a pg since hes way too small to play the 2 in this league.

Take into account he's not great at driving to the basket. Even in his highlights all his layups are attempts from a good 3-4 feet away from the hoops. Probably because he doesnt like contact.

He'll score on open jump shots and in transition. Teams will be able to crowd him because we no longer will have anything even remotely resembling a front court.

Golden State east....thats what we'll be.

Isn't Curry 6-3? I think he can get bigger. We have Nash people, we should be used to PG's who aren't big in size. I would love for this trade to go down. Come on Kerr, get Curry and the other guys for Amare!

Is it just me...or are all-star PFs who get to the rim and to free throw line much harder to come by than smallish "tweeners" who can shoot lights out?

Is it just me or do PF need to rebound and play defense in the NBA?

Curry is the second coming of Daniel Gibson, nothin more

Yeah, cause shooting 40% (45% on 2pt), 3.5 boards and 3 dimes while getting open looks playing with a future all star PF is TOTALLY the same as shooting 45% (51% on 2pt!), 4.5 boards and 5.5 assists while being the only decent player on your team and being triple teamed all night.

Exactly the same player. That's why one was drafted 42nd and the other 7th.

To be fair, Gibson was a steal for the Cavs in the 2nd round. But Curry has a much higher skill level coming out of college.

How about John "2-14" Starks?

Curry is the anti John Starks.

Starks was a much better leaper and defender while Curry being a better shooter.

Curry is some kind of cross between Mo Williams and Eddie House.

Curry was a much more complete player in college than Daniel Gibson, he has more PG skills than Chris Jackson too and bigger too.

In defense right now he is pretty much Steve Nash, will take some charges because he knows where to stand to get one but lacks a lateral speed to stay ahead of his man.

Nelson said he already has better PG skills than Ellis.

Even if he was....would anyone be okay with trading Amare Stoudemire for the big white stiff, wright and a Montana Ellis?

What are we even talking about here?
