His best bet to succeed is here, and I truly think that. As long as he cares more about the team succeeding than himself.

he can be just fine in any place of the league that has a good distributor on its team. If the hornets didn't have west, he'd be awesome there. boozer already said he'll opt out, so maybe the jazz will look for him to pair with williams instead of trying to resign Carlos. Cleveland fans talk quite a bit about trying to sign him, as he'd be a perfect fit to play with lebron. Of course we know what he can do in a d'antoni system, so new york would be an easy place for him to play. Same for golden state.

I think amare's best chance to win will be away from phoenix when his contract is up. I would be more surprised to see him stay than i would be if he left.

The main problem with Amare is that he's going to light up some team for 50+ on a dazzling array of vicious dunks and smooth jumpers very soon.

All past faults will be forgotten by most, while a small few will push for a sale with his value so high.

Let's hope said game happens before the deadline eh?

Me personally, I have no idea what I want or what the team should do. Half the time I love him to death, other times I'm scampering to ESPN for the trade machine.

One thing I do know, is that if we do cut ties with him, I don't want it to be for .40c on the $

Then you'd better act fast. The five-year warranty on his knee is about to expire, and there's no extended coverage plan available.

Then the Suns better start looking for a trade now. IMO, Amare will definitely be moving on when his contract expires. What's the saying, better to trade a player a year early than a year late. I don't think the Suns would give Amare a new contract anyway.

This is why I dont visit this board often. You dont think the Suns would give Amare a new contract? :mulli:

Yah they are going to let a top 10 player in the league just walk away without offering him the most that they can.

I just think Amare will want to move on and the Suns are probably inclined not to give him the max. This is just how I look at the situation. You know it is a discussion board.

It's a possibility for sure. However, honestly, how many big men are even available in the NBA? Especially one with Amare's skills. Amare may never fullfill all the expecations but I just don't see this team letting Amare go without having someone proven to fill his shoes. I just don't see it.

Unless they could fill the gap, I say there isn't much chance the Suns don't offer him max.

Man, expectations really skew opinions.

The guy has an off night (in which he gets a double/double) and people ask if he's mailing it in.

Tough crowd.

I don't think Amare wants to play with the Suns in the future. I can seeing it playing out almost like the Joe Johnson situation. If it does play out in a similar way I want the Suns to get more than junk in return. That's why it's better to trade a player a year earlier than a year later. I would wait until near the trading deadline before I would make such a major move to see if the Suns can get their act together. Believe me, I would really like to be wrong about the matter. I think if the Suns could get a PG like Pargo to rest Nash, things would look a lot brighter. Also another big man wouldn't hurt.

Amare strikes me as a player who will want max dollars. The Suns will be able to offer him more then any other team. Worst case scenario the teams gives him a max contract before a sign and trade. There is zero chance IMO the Suns just let him walk a la Joe.

The Suns did not let Joe walk for nothing. They got Diaw and two first round picks.

True. But I think a sign and trade for Amare should bring back even more. I guess "nothing" was a strong word but we were talking Diaw.

Actually I think if the Suns wait for a sign and trade they may get less. It's all about bargaining position.

I still 100% disagree Amare has mailed it in. To believe that you would have to believe Amare is playing this bad because of his own free will.

Amare is playing this bad because teams have figured out how one dimensional he is and now if you go at him hard on offense he can't guard you.

Give me a break. Up until last night, that 18 foot jumper has been automatic for him.

ASFN Instructions:

why do you bother posting here when all you do is rip on people or tell them to kill themselves?

Amare was very good, actually better than last season, until recent slump. According my observation, it started from Xmas, 3 possesion without a point on Duncan. Then, the back-to-back away game sets, foul trouble and ejection with double-T.

Now, officially, Amare has quitted his job. I don't know what happened or is happening behind the lockroom door. But it doesn't look like pure basketball reason for me. Maybe Amare asked an extention and turned down? Maybe Amare feel his job threatened by Shaq, after Shaq lead the second unit to wins?

Whatever, we r screwed, the season is over. Looking foward to the lottery. Let's hope we have as much luck as the Bulls.
