In my opinion a great half career isn't good enough. If his stats remained like this the rest of his career, I wonder if he would be remembered as the great WR that he was.

I don't think so. He gets too much respect from the National Media for that to happen. Aeneas Williams sadly didn't have the greatest playoff performance of all time like Larry did to enhance his standing nationally.

I don't know if Larry is now a Hall of Famer. I have no idea what it will take in 10 years to qualify for the Hall of Fame at wide receiver. There's a total logjam. Fitz had one historic postseason, but right now he's not one of the top 10 WR in the NFL.

If Larry gets back and has another 5+ years of 1200+ yards and 8+ TDs, he's going to have an argument to make. But if the game continues to evolve in the way that it has, it's possible that THOSE numbers are going to look as pedestrian as Andre Rison's and Tim Brown's do now.

Nope.

Barry Sanders
Gale Sayers
ANY HOF offensive lineman.

Stats can get you in, but it is not the end all of getting in the hall.

His stats are not top 10, but no question he is. It's not his fault at all no one can get him the rock. I think you have lost touch with reality. If you think he's not top 10, please list who you think is above him.

We should offer a 3rd for Kapernick.

Just showing the level onto which this thread places itself.

It pained me to cut Fitz from my fantasy team this week but he's still a great WR. Get him a decent QB and he'll be fine.

That's 15 WRs who are more productive, younger, cheaper, or a combination than Larry Fitzgerald. If you're going to rebut, I hope you can bring more than "nuh-uh."

Totally agree with you, you had me until the Duck diss, that dude is cool. He aint even darkside in my book. I'm the resident hippie hypocrite, but yamon, Larry is on his own path. I'd call him a HOFer tomorrow, not just because I'm a Cards fan. Just because Fitz is Fitz.

call me crazy (or worse which I'm sure you will), but a guy who consistently looks to pick fights with fellow fans like you're doing above seems like someone who "gets off looking for the bad".

pot meet kettle. you're black.

Add that to his racial remarks about Skelton and his true colors shine through.

Thanks. I needed a laugh to start my day. Most of the people on your list don't even warrant a rebuttal.

Devin Hester? - do I even need to say anything? Omg, this is nuts.

Jeremy Maclin? - what on earth are you thinking?

Vincent Jackson? - was never dominant like fitz, even with River throwing him the ball. I know rivers sucks this year, but he used to be a top 10 QB.

Steve Smith? - he's 139 years old
Jordy Nelson? - his QB can put the ball wherever he wants. Def not better than fitz.

Roddy White? - old

Des Bryant? - Headcase

Julio Jones - young, let's see him dominate for 5 years before we put him in that category.

AJ Green - He is right up there, still need to see the consistency year in and year out.

Victor Cruz - 2 good years, not on fitz' level

Hakeem Nicks - injury prone

Reggie Wayne - old

Brandon Marshall - Headcase

Demaryus Thomas - amazing athlete, questionable hands. How did he look last year with Tebow/orton? Btw, either of those abs would be an upgrade for us.

The ONLY WR IN THE GAME better than fitz is Megatron.

Are you honestly saying you would rather have any of those WRs on your team over Fitz?

Sorry on Devin Hester. I meant Percy Harvin. Late at night and typing on an iPhone.

Lets see Fitz "dominate for 5 years."

Your dismissive attitude of the better and more productive WRs in the NFL doesn't change the fact that there are a LOT of good, productive receivers in the NFL. The first thing that voters are going to look at is production and numbers. As good and talented a guy as Fitz is, he hasn't won anything, and he's not been consistently productive in a league where receivers are putting up record-breaking numbers every year.

But, your "are not" comments ARE (not) very persuasive. Whether or not Brandon Marshall or Dez Bryant are headcases is irrelevant to the question of whether or not they're better/more productive than Fitz right now.

His comparative stats at this point in his career are certainly top 10. What his final career stats may be is anyone's guess.

I don't think me wanting everything to be cool in Cardinal Land is the same.. That was a reach..

That's hilarious coming from a guy who gets his panties in a wad anytime someone says something good about John Skelton and immediately posts an exaggerated statement about how BAD Skelton is.

You don't care if the Cards win or lose that's fine. But I'm not buying your pollyanna baby girl everything is rosy nonsense. And if you don't like it tough s***.
