More and more I'm believing that the superbowl had very little to do with Ken Whizenhunt and was almost entirely Warner.

Today's play calling was infuriating. Particularly abandoning the run at the end when we had a lead.

Has whiz exhausted the good faith Kurt got him by taking us to the superbowl?

He would have to finish below .500 this year AND next year to get fired by this front office. You have to look at the history of the franchise and realize you would be firing the second winningest coach in franchise history. They aren't going to do that lightly, no matter how deserved.

If we go 4-12 he'd be gone.

Not with his current deal. Look we are spending money, but they aren't going to piss away that extension. I would stake money that we are at least two more years of Whiz regardless of record this year.

Not if most of the games were close.

Blowout losses in a critical year tend to define the years we're firing coaches when their contracts aren't up yet.

Maybe he could walk off the field early or something like that?

He's not the only one who needs to go, but the one who needs to go I can't imagine a scenario where he goes, that might require messing with space and time.

This is really one of the most poorly written polls I have seen. The only "good" option is the one that agrees with your opinion. I will vote no, mostly because he hasn't with the front office and that is what counts.

Not voting because I don't believe any of those are good voting points.

Whiz has used up his good faith from the SB. It disappeared when Santonio Holmes once again beats his defense for a 4th quarter TD in the right corner of the endzone.

CKW and Michael and Rod have had 4.32 seasons to build a defense. And they haven't even been able to put even a half azz one in Cardinal red with the exception of 2009 and that group was torched in the playoffs.

Instead of getting a real top notch DC he hires yet another crony from Pittsburgh.

There is some really good young talent on the D. I just hope that CKW and crew don't ruin them.

No way. Guy keeps getting dealt bad hands. Derek anderson, loss of multiple key defensive guys. Then this year, loss of our prolific RB and #1 and 2 CBs.

guys been working with his hands cuffed for 2 years now.

--I will say that I think he needs to take a seat and stop being the play caller. We have 2 great TEs now who we still rarely use. Unreal. Whats his MO against TEs? he must be bitter or something.

No DC in history could fix this defense, there's just too many holes and a plethora of horrible talent that would never warrant a good product. The defensive woes come straight from the FO and Whiz, they don't seem to understand that defense is actually a part of the game, and you 'need' it to win. Would Haggans, Lenon and Porter be starting for any other team? Probably not..Yet they are supposed to be the core of the defense, especially in a 3-4 where the LB's do practically everything.

I think Paris doesn't get enough credit. Completely agree on the steeler cast offs though.

In regards to the DC topic, I feel like Ive had to remind everyone who thought Horton coming is was some elite DC who was going to give us the Steelers defensive blueprints, that Horton is not the guy we wanted. Hes what we salvaged when the guy we Really wanted became unavailable.

At this point I'll give Horton the benefit of the doubt. Many posters here aired their concerns about holes in the defense prior to the start of the season.

I'll be interested in seeing what Horton does to adjust what he wants to do vs what he has to work with.

Agree and is only a representation of the numerous Chicken Little posts lingering throughout this board right now.

We lost. By 1 point on the road against a resurgent Redskins team.

This Veruca Salt whiny BS after losses is absurd.

The Cards lost after having an 8 point lead in the 4th quarter. They have had problems holding leads for far too long to ignore it and run around crowing about a moral victory.

I just want this organization to do two things and I'm cool with Whiz:

1) Get rid of Grimm
2) BRING IN SOME OTs and PASS RUSHERS via draft/free agency

Exactly---start bringing in tough players. Whiz's teams are too soft, especially under pressure.

If I'm the Cardinals I'm using that first round pick on the highest rated LT or pass rusher in on the board when we pick.. And I don't even care if the pass rusher isn't a prototype 3-4 OLB.. I'm simply taking a guy who knows how to get the QB, and building my defense around him..

The Cardinals have been passing on pass rushers and OTs the last 2-3 yrs.. just letting the problem continue to develop.. I swear I would spend almost my entire draft or free agent budget fixing these two areas.

Here's the deal, Fiasco. We lost a game (by one point) and you're ready to jump ship.

Your privilege. But I'm not bailing.

First I would love to see what D'Anthony Batiste looks like in real games. I thought he was one of the best 3 o-linemen I saw in the pre-season. Because if he's good---what we really need is what we really needed the past three drafts: a stud edge rusher. I wanted the Cardinals to draft SOLB/DE Ryan Kerrigan---and we saw why today.

I been on this ship for two cities and won't get off until I'm 6ft under. My disdain for whiz's playcalling and team preparation is IMHO justified. Doesn't make me love the Cardinals less.

I just want this organization to do one thing. Build a defense that can shut down an opponent's offense in the last minutes of a close game with the Cards in the lead.

Two games this year. Up 7 Mike Lenon has to make a terrific tackle to stop Carolina's drive from their 17 to our 11. Thank you Mike for that but I want you guys to stop them back at their 30. Then they let Wash drive from their own 27 to our 18 and throw a TD pass on 4th and 3.

I mean they've been giving up big plays for TDs forever. The only reason they had to come back to beat SD in '98 to make the playoffs was because they game up a long TD pass on 4th and forever.

I agree -- and Haggans has played decent the first two games as well. Problem is that Paris and Haggans should be at best the 3rd and 4th best LBs on this team and probably lower (behind an elite pass rusher, DWash, and potentially Stewart Bradley and Schofield). If Paris and Haggans are our top two LBs, we've got issues (as they were today with DWash out)!!
