Not saying this just because I am a Sun Devil fan but Lute really made the correct decission here by suspending him.
Agreed. It's the ideal punishment for Hassan and the team. Hassan not only loses some spots in the draft and those dollars but also the opportunity for his final homecoming at the Pac-10 Tourney (Hassan is from LA). Meanwhile an already NCAA-bound Arizona team will have him on the floor for the real Tournament so as not to punish the other twelve guys on the team who acted responsibily on Saturday night.sundevilscott said:Not saying this just because I am a Sun Devil fan but Lute really made the correct decission here by suspending him.

Even if he was a Sun Devil I'd want him kicked off his team. No excuse for drinking and driving. None.
We're all very familiar with your stance that DUI offenders should be tarred, feathered, and dragged through the streets but in the real world that's not what happens. Hassan embarassed himself, his family, the University of Arizona and all it's fans, and the city of Tucson not to mention lost himself potentitally millions of guaranteed dollars and probably his last opportunity to play in front of family and friends. Lute decided that was enough punishment and based on the fact that it's consistent with what other programs do in cases like this is enough for me to be satisfied. I would have been pissed and embarassed though if he was let go without any sort of punishment.Brian in Mesa said:That's what happens in the real world. Is this a joke? ASU is just as lenient with players who break the law as Arizona is.AZBALLER said:I may be wrong, but I don't think he EVER played again...But I guess that's how ASU coaches punish their players?

Connor Banks, Loren Wade, Hakim Hill, etc.AZBALLER said:PROOF???
No, they weren't.AZBALLER said:They were all kicked off the team after their 1st offense at ASU...How is that leniant(sp?)?
Connor Banks was suspended for a whopping one game after getting arrested with an extreme DUI. Sounds similar to Hassan's punishment. And every ASU fan is very aware of all the nonsense Wade and Hill were a part of that went barely punished before they both went off the deep end.AZBALLER said:would you like to expand on that comment?
