Not saying this just because I am a Sun Devil fan but Lute really made the correct decission here by suspending him.

Agreed. It's the ideal punishment for Hassan and the team. Hassan not only loses some spots in the draft and those dollars but also the opportunity for his final homecoming at the Pac-10 Tourney (Hassan is from LA). Meanwhile an already NCAA-bound Arizona team will have him on the floor for the real Tournament so as not to punish the other twelve guys on the team who acted responsibily on Saturday night.

Kicking him off the team basically screws over the other 12 guys who didn't get behind the wheel and puts in a nail in the coffin of Hassan's already dwindling NBA prospects.

That's what happens in the real world. There are consequences for your actions and what you do often affect others that count on you.

Even if he was a Sun Devil I'd want him kicked off his team. No excuse for drinking and driving. None.

I think Lute gave out the correct punishment. The UofA looks like they will get in the NCAA tournamnet but I don't think they are 100% in. I believe they need to beat Stanford to definitely get in.

Every coach has his own way of punishing players. I remember when Ryan Kealy was arrested. How many games was he suspended?

We're all very familiar with your stance that DUI offenders should be tarred, feathered, and dragged through the streets but in the real world that's not what happens. Hassan embarassed himself, his family, the University of Arizona and all it's fans, and the city of Tucson not to mention lost himself potentitally millions of guaranteed dollars and probably his last opportunity to play in front of family and friends. Lute decided that was enough punishment and based on the fact that it's consistent with what other programs do in cases like this is enough for me to be satisfied. I would have been pissed and embarassed though if he was let go without any sort of punishment.

I may be wrong, but I don't think he EVER played again...But I guess that's how ASU coaches punish their players?

Is this a joke? ASU is just as lenient with players who break the law as Arizona is.

Just stating facts! I don't think that kid ever played again for ASU! Am I wrong?

Why attack someone who is posting FACTS?

BTW, it's kinda funny that ua has a DE who wasn't only kicked off of ASU's team, but he was also kicked out of ASU...I guess we all know why ua is losing football scholies...

would you like to expand on that comment?
Connor Banks was suspended for a whopping one game after getting arrested with an extreme DUI. Sounds similar to Hassan's punishment. And every ASU fan is very aware of all the nonsense Wade and Hill were a part of that went barely punished before they both went off the deep end.

Your assertion that ASU is tougher on their players than Arizona for off-field stuff is absolutely wrong and any objecive ASU fan would tell you that. Both athletic departments are pretty much the same as each other's and other universities around the country when it comes to dealing with athletes going wild. Like I've said before, those who live in glass houses...
