After reading the Skkorp report, I wonder if Brian Simnjanovski has a legit shot at beating out Player?

*starts hoping*

I've seen this posted a couple times and was wondering about Pace and Johnson - What makes people think the rookies deals will get done "no later/no earlier" than mid-week? Why no earlier or why no later?

Ryan,

Both guys look pretty good. I think it's possible, but if Gramatica kicks off well, I think he'll keep the job. He's too clutch on field goals.

Alan,

Brian has a good leg, but he's a better kicker than a punter. I don't see him beating out Scott Player.

Cheesebeef,

I haven't heard "no earlier". They're working as we write to try and get these deals done. I don't see it lingering into the middle of August, because the talks are deemed "healthy".

Your name reminded me of a sandwich I ate up here at camp. Good sandwich.

Shane,

Fish is going to have to learn to play through pain. He's bulked up to about 240, and he hasn't lost any speed. He can be a great player, but he has to get used to playing with a little pain.

Dave...
With Jeff Blake being the "veteran" that he is...are the Cards in serious trouble if he goes down for any length of time this season? Or can our younger(and "wet") backups get the jobs done...especially with our young WR core?

Thanks!

PS You do an AWESOME job on the radio/tv!

Dave,
Thanks very much for answering at the sight. My question is regarding Adrian Wilson. I think the kid is a stud. How is he doing speed wise and will he mesh with our new saftey for Tampa?

Thanks

Thanks man. I appreciate the compliment.

Josh McCown has made tremendous strides. He looks very very good. He has all the tools, and I think he's not being as hard on himself as he was last year. Josh is very mature for his age, and I think has a chance to be a player. Blake clearly is the starter, and is a nice change from Jake Plummer. Blake has one of the best arms I've ever seen.

Seesred,

Dexter Jackson is really pushing Wilson to be a better player. I can't say in words how much Jackson has added to this football team. He is a great player, and leader, and will help Adrian grow. Wilson is up to about 230 lbs, and can still run and cover. If he stays disciplined, trusts his technique, and doesn't rely too much on his athletic ability alone, he's got perennial pro bowler written all over him.

Dave,

How many reps would you say Shipp is getting compared to Smith so far this training camp?

Is Shipp looking like his normal solid self?

Shane,

Shipp looks good, but I tell you what...Emmitt has been very impressive. I think he has more left than everybody realized. Damien Anderson has also looked good. This is a very good group of running backs.

Dave, How does Clement look coming off his injury? Also Barret the right corner had a good year last year can he improve enough to hold his slot.

Thanks again

Wizard,

I don't think so. Preston has improved from last year, but so has Josh McCown.

AC looks in really good shape, and he and Leonard are quite a tandem on the right side of the line. That's the key to the offense this year. The health of the O-line.

Barrett is a legit starting corner in this league. He's probably one of the more physical corners in the NFL.

Dave:

Don't mess with the CUSE baby!!!!! National BBall Champs.......Definately surprised alot of people this year. Hopefully the CARDS will follow. Bet you wish Carmelo was a year older? Can't wait to check him out @ some Nuggets games this year!

Fellow Cards and Cuse Fan here in CO Via Syracuse. Well Kinda I guess, graduated 1991 from UTICA COLLEGE of Syracuse University. Unfortunately Cuse didn't have my major @ the main campus. We called ourselves the Tangerines:D

Anyway, since this is a Cards board here goes (yes I'm greedy w/ the questions):

1. Whats with the Syracuse connection and the Cards??

2. Who do you think will surprise this year? Rookie/ Vet??

3. Do you do play by play for the scrimmage??

Awesome job last year.

Thanks in advance. Leaving Wed night for training camp. Can't wait.
