Gabbert has better mobility than CP and DS, and at times he has shown very good accuracy.

Issues are: Can he do it more consistently? Can he cut down on mistakes? What kind of impact has BA and his staff had on his development?

Everyone looks like horse hockey when they're on a lousy team. Gabbert, for all his faults, has been on some of the most sucktastic teams this side of John McKay.

Different head coach/OC virtually every year, blah blah. Let's just see what he can do. His early career reminds me of Alex Smith, someone absolutely none of you would have wanted to even bother spitting on a few years ago. Most productive QB in the NFL now.

Blaine Gabbert v. Tom Savage might be the worst QB matchup I've ever seen... which is saying A LOT considering the trash we've endured at QB over the years (Skelton, Tupa, Gelbaugh!!).

And yet, I will be up at 10 a.m., ready to watch this mess... like I always am.

Come on Cheese Gabbert is freaking Elway compared to some of the turds we have had to witness here! If nothing else most cards fans are excited for Sunday, significantly more so than if Stanton were trotting out there!

Skelton vs McElroy from 2012.

Didn't we get a Stoney Case v Trent Dilfer matchup once?

He has not been good even taking into account the bad teams he was on. This will just be the third bad team he has played on:p. But Stanton is a known suck as well. There is really no better chance with either as far as winning games. Gabbert more than likely will not be any improvement over Drew and Drew will be right back under center.

I will be surprised if Gabbert plays well enough to stave off the mighty Drew. It seems it is almost impossible to displace BA’s man crush on Drew.

Curious to hear BA say this week that he "kinda sees Gabbert as a starter in waiting." BA was adamant that Gabbert's past struggles were the result of playing for "s--- teams."

if that's the case, why didn't BA start Gabbert versus SF and SEA and keep Stanton as the #2? Again, it's this obsessive loyalty to coaches and pet players that makes one question just how badly BA wants to win.

In about 30 hours, y’all gonna know exactly why Gabbert hasn’t played.

Yeah but Stoney Case had this really pretty girlfriend that used to sit not far from us at SDS. When he started drilling passes into the turf or 3 feet over Frank Sanders head, we at least had her to enjoy.

Because Stanton is the better QB & gives us the best chance to win.

Yeah but don't forget I got to watch him for 4 years playing for my pathetic UNM Lobos before being subjected to him playing for the Cards!

I'm torn. Obviously I want the Cardinals to find the QB of the future, and Gabbert looked great in preseason. But honestly, I can't stand the fans that think he's going to be some miracle compared to Stanton and have seemingly ignored how absolutely putrid this guy has been in his career. I feel like fans think every other team has some spectacular Super Bowl capable backup besides us, and ignore how lucky we are to have a guy who at least isn't the reason we lose when Palmer is hurt.

There are maybe two teams in the league whose season wouldn't be completely over with their starter out for the year.

If BA really believes that Michael should just pull a Bill Bidwill & lock all the coaching staff out of the offices on Black Monday!!! I'm dead freaking serious!

Gabbert isn't going to all of a sudden turn into Joe Montana. He's a pedestrian average QB at best. IMO Keim Time needs to show some balls & identify "the" QB to draft & go get him, regardless of what BA wants. My biggest fear is they draft Rudolph or Allen & the poor cycle of not having a QB starts all over again.

I agree! At times, I’ve seen decades where we’ve marched out worst crap than Gabbert. The kid has played for poopy teams that had NO offensive capabilities whatsoever. I’m not saying he’s the long term answer, but I’m only watching this game because Stanton isn’t playing.

I'm talking about the entirety of the MATCH-UP Gabbert v. Savage.

That is an atrocious matchup of QBs.
