I like Henry, but I am with other posters on here. With a huge RB draft class and a ton of free agents why are we trading a good LT at a good price when LT are so valuable ? I would rather have a high second and sign Lamont Jordan or if we wait another month I bet the Bills would take a third next year. I will be extremly pissed to watch Cement back there missing key blocks again.

Also will anyone give us anything for Raynoch ?? Maybe a 5th or a 4th if a team is desperate ? What about AC maybe a 6th or 7th ?

Don't worry, a good RT and a better RG will be coming.

This is a huge addition. HUGE. Ya'll will be stunned the Bills let him go for So Cheap! :)

What RG and RT do you like through free agency ? I am not that sold on Coleman however McKenzie from the Jets does spark a lot of interest. I want to see a good fast run blocking guard. We need a mauler on the right side ...

I agree!! Man, I hope this happens, I'm stoked about the possibility of having Henry back there. I'm a bills fan as well, and from what I've seen of him over the years, he's a damn fine running back. He has good speed, quickness, agility, and power.

IF this is true, I am EXTREMEMLY stoked! Henry is my 2nd choice (Alexander), but we get a skill player for a replacable OL. We can sign two of Coleman, McKenzie or Miller and be set with Step, Big and Wells....

As for the draft, get DJ at #8 and Everett at #44. If we can sign Lucas (SEA) or Henry (CLE), then our DBs are set too. The only thing to figure out is QB and I think Griese is best there....

Offseason:

T. Henry (trade)
K. McKenzie (FA)
F. Miller (FA)
K. Lucas (FA)
B. Griese (FA)
C. Hovan (FA)
D. Johnson (draft)
K. Everett (draft)

Trade Clement and Thompson for draft picks....

That would be a highly successful offseason!!!!!

DeMulling and McKenzie sound good to me. They'd make the RS a strong point in our attack.

Not Once

have I heard LJ say he didn't want to be here! Nothing from his agent indicated that either. All references that were made, were made to playing time.
It seems to me LJ was will ing to play anywhere he was asked, he just wanted a chance to start and wasn't getting it from Green. even though there was'nt anyone who was "out performing" him.
I've heard the same thing from others. They want playing time, but Green is palying who he wants, not necessarily who is the"better" player be any means.
I'm just sorry that a guy, who plays hurt, give the team everything he has, knows he's probably not going to get a fair shake, ASKS if he can test the waters, told to go ahead ( confirming his beliefs about the staff), is now the "Guy Who Wanted Out"!
Don't start B.S, rumors.
This isn't meant for you DJ.

I'm going to have to disagree. Shelton come to camp out of shape because of an ankle injury. Thus he was 'out performed' in camp because he was out of shape.

He was given the chance to start once he got in shape (which is fair IMO). And then became the starting RT for 8 games before getting hurt.

Now, if Shelton is happy about being the starting RT. Then why is his agent asking for a trade? It's pretty easy to read between the lines and see that Shelton sees himself as a starting LT and thinks he can be one on another team. More power to him.

But Shelton and his agent ASKED for the trade. So it is clear that he is the one wanting out. The Cardinals aren't pushing him out.

Who cares who went to who and asked what?

LJ got permission to seek a trade..... I doubt Green told him "Go find us an offer". Permission means he went to the front office, said he wanted ot see if he could find a better situation for himself, and did.

LJ wasn't going to play LT here. Green decided to let him find a team who would let LJ play the position he wanted to, and he did. He's on a team that is up and coming, that wants him in the position he wanted to play. Arizona got a RB they needed. This is a great trade for both.

LJ was a great team player. He played hurt, sucked it up and played guard and RT. He even did so with his mouth shut, never once publicly complaining or bad mouthing anybody. I'll miss his professionalism, but I think now is the time.

One thing I don't like is the extension Henry will command. I still would prefer the 2nd rounder (rumored of course)

What other players have said this?

And if you cant come up with an actual quote from a player then what player can you actually justify them saying this, Shelton maybe but he did end up starting, Hayes is a big maybe and he to ended up starting, McCown another maybe. Everyone else deserved to be starting where they were IMO.

I do think it is funny when we get mad about dismantling and team that wins 30% of their games!!! I even find myself doing it!!!

yeah this will be sweet for both teams, what an offense dennys building in arizona, henry would be nice piece!!! good luck travis!!!

I liked this comment on the Bills board. Anyway its an excellent move in all ways. Travis will be the TYPE of player that Graves just talked about in his Q & A Somebody with something to prove. He will want to show Bills how stupid they were, and I hope he succeeds. Denny must have talked to him also.

As an added bonus we don't have to pick a RB in the first round. Here comes Rolle or Johnson, I think its the best trade since Ive been a fan.

Yeah I really like the players that feel they have something to prove, like Dockett who slipped to the 3rd or Dansby who slipped to the 2nd, Macklin who didnt get much play from his own team(Colts) and didnt get the major bucks some lesser CB's got.

I also like not having to be pigeon holed into selecting only a RB in the 1st round, I know Denny goes by a modified BPA philosophy but even Denny would find it hard to pass on one of the top 3 RB's if they were there and he still had other players higher on his draft board.

I don't remember LJ took snaps at Guard. The coaching staff only let him take snaps at RT spot.

Maybe I confused that with all of us wanting him to play guard :D

I dont think you are confused I think there were reports of him taking snaps at gaurd in camp as well. Either that or they said they were thinking about it, but I am pretty sure he did take snaps in training camp at gaurd a few times.

Yes, he did get some work at guard.

How can anyone not like this trade? Everyone pretty much agrees that the main thing team needs to improve is it's running game(well, there is that little Qb issue). The running game has been non-existent with Shelton playing either LT or RT.He's a good pass blocker but not a punishing run blocker.Henry will be the Cards version of Tiki Barber. He's more talented,by far, than any back on our roster. Also, the Cards are not pigeon-holed into taking a RB at #8.And we don't use the bulk of FA money on a RB. The only posssible snag is not getting Henry inked to a longer contract. But, that's still not that big of deal.We can draft Clarett in round 4 and groom him to replace Henry. This move frees up the draft and free agency. Here's the new mock draft for the Cards first 4 picks 1)Rolle,2) Everett,3) Cj Mosley, 4) Clarett.

I dunno about Clarett in round 4, listening to Kiper recently on Sportscenter he said he is a 6th round to undrafted rookie. His stock isn't what most teams consider as valuable. I'd be willing to pick him in round 7 but 4 is too early.

I do like this trade, I just hope Henry agrees to an extension first. If we can get 1200+ yards(not out of the question with his history) out of him at RB and have Hambrick/Draft Pick backing him up we should be ok on the ground for the first time in forever.

About that QB position though...

You're ready to give Shipp his walking papers? I'd sooner get rid of Hambrick than Shipp...much sooner.
