and the EAgles beat the Rams.....well, lets just say it sets up a VERY exiting final week of the season.

Seahawks lose to the Falcons on final week of season....I can see that.
Rams lose thier next 2 to Eagles and Jets....I can see that.

We beat the Seahawks and Bucs, win the division, and we will be hosting an NFC playoff game against the Packers or Vikings.

(insert twilight zone music here)

Picture If You Will

A lonely team whose fans believe are cursed.

After a sleepless night in Seattle....and a final home game that becomes the biggest one in recent history.

Look....the signpost up ahead......doo-doo doo-doo...doo-doo doo-doo.....you are entering the GREEN ZONE!!!

I wonder what we would be talking about if Green had not played musical chairs with the qb's?

Or maybe

Josh McCown wouldn't be playing this well if he wasn't benched. We will never really know. I don't think Green did it on purpose for some psychological effect but you never know. All I know is that we beat the Rams and as fans still have something to look forward to as the players as well. It felt good to see the Cards waste another team for a change.

I know we cant look back but losing those games to the 49ers hurts bad. If we had only won one of those I would be a bit more optimistic.

I absolutely believe that.

We're still alive for the wild card too right?

thats whats crazy. Wild card? Our chances are slim, but division winners is more of a possibility. Not to get too crazy, but this senario could very easily play out.

Or if we weren't owned by the team that no other team in the NFL has managed to lose to. :(

I've heard people (DG included) that there's no way we can win a wild card. It's the division or nothing. But then I've heard people say that we can win a wild card. Hopefully someone will clarify.

I still say the games that killed us were the Atlanta and first San Francisco game. Yeah, you can say last week too, but when you are down 28-3 you're lucky to have a chance at all.

Should never have been down 28-3 in the first place. The Cards lost to the Patriots and Jets-a combined 22-5 - in SDS, understandable, and the 49ers -inexcuseable.

Regardless of how things finally play out this season they finally learned to kick the crud out of teams at home. Next year they learn how to win on the road. And those playoff ticket order forms will be more than just souvenirs.

Looking at the wild card situation, it seems that if Carolina and STL or SEA lose out and NO only beats Carolina and we win out, we will be tied with NO at 7-9 we would get in because we beat them heads up. Of course this means that all the other 5-9 teams lose 1 game down the stretch.

Ram might win against Eagles. Isn't Eagles already clinched the home field advantage all the way? If so, Eagles probably play all 2nd stringers. Just a thought....

And it looks as if TO is out for a while now too. I think at best he returns for their first playoff game.

Id like to see the Cardinals host the Vikings in round 1 of the playoffs for a rematch of last years finale.

Monday night football and heading into the playoffs. Doubtful the Eagles would just pack it in and give the Rams a W.

Agreed - only a Super Bowl trip will do in Philly this year, and the Eagles can not afford to take a week off on the field and lose rhythm.

They also can't afford not to be totally healthy going inot the playoffs - like they haven't been for the last couple years. Last year - Westbrook got hurt in week 16 - this year TO got hurt in week 15 - they've got it clinched and they won't be going all out. One MNF isn't as important as health in the NFC Title game.

The playoffs are a pipe-dream anyway - I'm just glad thatgame is on MOnday night because it allows us to suspend disbelief and makes a second to last game of the zseason "meaningful" - that's sweet and is about all I could ask for in Denny's first year.

 Thanks, Mike!

Like everyone else is saying, it is really, really weird to be thinking about this at 5-9, but if the team that showed up yesterday shows up the next two weeks, we'll be 7-9.

Here's hoping for the help we need.
