Terrence Williams!! As fun as it is to read rumors everyday, I agree to that Trade now...

Williams was putting up Iggy numbers last year (Louisville), can defend, and is explosive.

"According to Fred Kerber of the New York Post, New Jersey's offer for Stoudemire included Yi Jianlian, Courtney Lee or Terrence Williams, and an array of draft picks that doesn't include this season's first round pick."

Get it done I would say..

Simmons, Yi, Williams, 2011 unprotected Nets pick, Golden State 2012 pick, Dallas 2010 pick, Nets 2010 2nd rounder.

Quantity vs Quality kind of.

Given the circumstance that all the bridges with Amare were burnt already, this is the best deal out there. Yi still has potential and is always a good trade asset for GS or LAC.

Hell yes. It's not a great package, but it's the best they're likely to do. Yi, Williams, and two future firsts would be something most of us could stomach.

Yi is awful, and I shudder at the thought of playing him at PF.

Yi is not a great prospect, but he is at least "something".

However, it's quite obvious that the Nets won't give him and Williams and a billion of 1st rounders (especially not next year's unprotected one) for Stoudemire.

I'm not sure he's awful. He's listed at only 22 years old (I know, I know) and is up to 14 and 7 with 43% shooting from long range. His foul rate is lower than Stoudemire's and his turnover rate is quite a bit lower. He's not going to be knocking on the All-Star door any time soon, but he doesn't look hopeless.

I'll admit I haven't seen him play much this season. As for him playing PF, his defense can't be any worse than our incumbent's.

I watched Brand and Dalembert get offensive rebounds on three straight possessions yesterday when Yi and Lopez were in. I read somewhere that Yi had 25% of his shots in the paint blocked. I don't know if that's still true. I saw him put up a Rolo-esque hook shot.

The comparisons to Frye are apt. Yi's shot looks nicer and Frye seems quicker to me. All in all, not a bad guy to have on a rookie deal, but Terrence Williams looks like the better prospect to me as he is progressing on his shot and passing ability according to Marv and the Czar.

:):)

He will be the allstar starter as soon as he plays on a good team.
