I have answered this repeatedly already. Peter has never...ever read anyone's mind. It took Parkman an entire season to be good at it and that was with him only concentrating on how to get good at it. You need to accept the fact that Peter is overall more powerful but less skillful than the other characters.

I don't buy that really, but I accept your explanation. I think people try to make it fit so that it makes sense, even if it's a major plot hole.

I mean, Peter can do a lot of things that aren't his native powers and the second Parkman showed up, he was able to fight off his mind control and even turn it against him.

I don't see him as being less skillful at all.

He easily turns invisible, flies, etc. But mind reading is harder? Wasn't hard for Parkman, only to tune out all the sounds he kept hearing.

eh. I think you guys are being hyper-critical. Is it as good as last season? no. In that sense, they're a victim of their own success. It started slower, and just when it should be hitting it's stride, it's cut short because of the strike.

I still enjoy it.

Agreed. I just watched the finale tonight.

It was fine. They got their legs cut out from under them with the strike...but they wrapped it up admirably.

(such as why Hiro doesn't just start over if he doesn't like the way things are going), but nothing to me screams "huge plot hole."

They established that one early on, when he couldn't save the waitress though he tried over and over again.

Chandler Mike: As for not reading Adam's mind...that one is a good point. Only thing I'll say on that is that I think he can only use it as an "active" power...it isn't innate with him. He has to think about it. And given he's barely even remembering his life (everything haitaned away) he might not even realize he can read thoughts, if it were a power he had to think to use.

Peter oddities

I guess peter doesnt actually have to be close to someone to absorb their power. case in point, he never got TOO close to D.L or saw him phase thru solid objects but still picked up his ability. He uses this power to rescue adam from his cell but doesnt think to use phasing instead of struggling to telekinetically pry open that huge vault door.

Also when adam drops the virus how long does it take to hit the ground!!! After adam let go of it, Peter was able to sprint at least a few meters to the vault, spot the vile and stop it in mid free-fall. Should we now add faster-than-gravity superspeed to his array of powers?

and for thje record he can control his mind-reading as he uses it to steal the viruses location from victoria pratts brain

Just finished it up. I've pretty much lost interest in all the characters except Peter, Adam and Sylar. I'm used to shows like the Sopranos, where characters continue to evolve. Most of the characters on this show just seem to do the same thing over and over.
