Guys, I think we all need to cool our jets until we see how the rest of the offseason shakes out. If tomorrow was the first game of the 2010 season we'd be in trouble, but there's a lot of time between now and then. There WILL be additions to the team that we'll get excited about; I promise.

Yup completely agree. Lets see what the roster looks like on July 31st.

Amazingly when you think about it there is still a ton of "talent" on this team even after the dparture of all of those players yesterday:

Dockett
Fitz
Breaston
Wells
Hightower
Campbell
Wilson
Leinart
DRC

Its not as though we dont have anything to work with by any means.

A week ago I'd have agreed with you, but the milk has now been spilled and the proverbial toothpaste is out of the tube.

At this point, I think it's very appropriate to hit the panic button. Our current situation "is what it is" and will remain so until it isn't. And until things change, we have every right to belly-ache.

I'm sure you're sincere when you promise that "there will be additions to get excited about", but like the rest of us, you are a fan and have no control over whether or not you can deliver on that promise.

You may turn out to be right - maybe there will be reason for us to get excited. But right now, I'm not excited. I'm disappointed, wary and will remain panicky until I see the Cardinal front office do something to convince me otherwise.

The Cardinal organization has done some good things to advance the franchise during the past few years, but - like a talented but inconsistent CB - they haven't yet earned my full faith that they always know best and are a lock to make the right moves.

I am not an optomist by nature but when your division rivals beat you twice last year and to my knowledge did not lose any key players. The Cards have had years to lock up Dansby who was a big part of our success. Then they let a pro bowl WR that they said they would take care of get away.

It is certainly hard to see how we are going to improve this year and not take a giant step backwards.

I'm not panicking, but it's pretty difficult to see how we're better without the four players we've lost. Boldin is replaceable with guys already on the roster. Dansby and Rolle are not. Signing Larry Foote and Matt Ware isn't going to get the job done. We already had Foote once and he was named Ron McKinnon. He was pretty much shot by the time he reached 30.

I'm not panicking because none of these moves were unexpected. We've known for 2 years that Dansby wanted to test free agency. We've known for 2 years that Boldin would be traded eventually. The only unexpected one was Rolle who half of the board wanted to get rid of anyway.

He is talented. I never doubted that. The problem is mental with him. Im not so sure he has it there. I hope he proves me wrong.

Pariah, I couldn't agree with you more. If we get just a little help in free agency, Larry Foote and Joey Porter would be huge there, then we can build in the draft. We also need to find a QB backup, but we needed that anyway.

Always wanted to do that!

The Cards lost noone that cannot be replaced and expect that they will be shortly.

If we go in to training camp with multiple holes and no depth then I will panic. Until then, whatever...its too early in the offseason to worry.

I calling for an intervention. Jeff, you are always the one who sees both sides of the coin, all the options, you no nothing about black or white and understand there is only grey.

Whis was just extended making him on the top 5 HC's salary wise. That is not you fathers cardinals. Please say it with me..THis is not my fathers Cardinals.

Tough off season so far except for the fact that Whis was extended.

Porter and Foote both have their best days long behind them. If Porter still had the juice to get to the QB there is absolutely no way Parcells would let him walk with a base 3-4 defense to go with Charlie Anderson as a starter.

Foote is a little closer to his prime but never had any athletic ability to begin with. The way this board moans about Gerald Hayes as a coverage liability...well, I give it about 2 quarters in the first regular season game until everyone turns on Foote. He makes Hayes look like Aeneas Williams.

At least Foote could have a positive effect on the run game. He's very physical, but mostly because he can't play any other way. Anyone hanging the offseason hopes on signing him to "replace" someone as athletic as Dansby is going to be sorely disappointed.

I'd like to see one more subtarction, Rod Graves. Unfortunately, he continues to save the Bidwill's tons of money by letting their best players walk away for nothing. Thus, gets an extension. Thank god for the uncapped year. Otherwise in addition to Dansby,Boldin, Warner, Rolle, Berry, Okeafor, and Gandy,we'd be losing Watson, Breaston, and Lutui as well. But those guys are all easily replaceable .

(Sound of heavy breathing slowly calming down): Thanks, Cardiac - I needed that.

Chalk it up to Bill Parcells' influence on me. He's become famous for saying: "it is what it is."

What he means by this is that it's fruitless to speculate, prognosticate or play "what-if." If one team lost to another team, the other team is better. If, due to bad luck, injuries etc., an otherwise champion-caliber team only wins half its games, it's not "a championship team who had bad luck"; it's a freakin' .500 team.

Right now the Cardinals are missing 6 quality players from last year's playoff team (7 if you're a Matt Ware fan). That's just the way it is.

If and when they restock the pantry, they'll be fewer than 6 quality players away from last year's team. Until then, they "are what they are" and that's my point.

We are no longer in the realm of knowing what kind of team we'll have going into training camp. We are in Questionmark City and it's pretty unsettling.

You need a time out. Go to the corner and come back in a week.

If you want to be pissed at someone then direct it where the blame belongs, Bill Bidwill. He's the reason for Rolles contract causing us to cut him this year. He's the reason all negotiations take forever and why RG must move at a snails pace at times.

If we sign zero free agents and all our drafted players this year suck then I'll panic.

One of my employees had a plague made for me that says "It's All Good". It was a toss up between that and "It is what it Is". The reason is because I say these two phrases a LOT.

I agree we took a hit this off season. I just have faith that we will address these holes.
How quick is Graves, he realizes he will lose Los & Rolle as the negotiations are taking place yesterday so he makes the Q trade happen so we have extra draft picks to address this. And people say RG can't multi task. :D

I'm with ya Jeff. Hopefully our board buds dont make us draw a circle on the wall & make us keep our noses in it until after draft day

I thought Porter was phased out for the sack artist from the Conadian Football League, who is about 1/25th the price of Porter.
