It’s much easier and more exciting to do a blog post after the Cardinals win. The final score was 25-21 Arizona and it was quite a good game, a chess match if you will, between the offenses on both teams.

What ended up being the deciding factor was the Cardinals defense finally showing up, and pitching a SHUTOUT in the second half of the game. The Lions scored seven points but it was off a pick six in the third quarter and not the Lions offense.

There are still a ton of areas to improve on but this offense has an immense amount of potential if they can get on the same page and continue to protect Carson Palmer. (Note: Only one sack on Palmer today by a mean, disruptive Lions DL.)

I think PP21 did a good job on CJ with the exception of the long TD play. Even on that play he had good coverage and was in position to make an immediate tackle after about a 12 yard gain, but a lapse in judgement allowed that to be a long TD play.

Peterson had his eyes on Dansby because he thought Dansby had intercepted it.

That's precisely the lapse in judgement that I was talking about. In that situation he should have made the tackle either way. If it was an interception than making the tackle takes CJ out of the play for tackling Dansby and if it is a catch than you stop it from turning into a huge play.

Calvin Johnson, 6 receptions, 116 yards, 2 TD's.. and Peterson shadowing majority of the game.

I don't think that's a good job. He got torched and I expect more from him BUT.. he will bounce back.

If Peterson tackles him on an int return, it's holding buddy.

But point taken, Peterson did have a lapse in judgement.

Not if it is an immediate hit when the ball gets to the receiver. Than it's just a defender trying to make the tackle. Obviously he can't tackle him a couple seconds after the pick, but he could tackle him while it's happening.

If it weren't for that one 72 yard play it would be 5 receptions, 44 yards, 1 TD.

Sloppy play on PP's part with the long TD pass to CJ. You hear from many sources how great PP is then you see him get beat fairly badly in todays game. I think they gave PP some help in the 2nd half and we all saw what a huge difference it made in the 2nd half.

I think it was poster Early who blasted PP and said he isn't a very good corner but then he gets voted into the top 100 players and keep reading about how great he is. Bottom line is I'm thrilled he is on our team.

The Lions Dline was missing Farly today so our Oline did catch a break.

The only play in this game that PP didn't cover CJ well was the 3 yard TD. Every other time he was right with CJ to include the 77 yard play. On that play he was right there to make an immediate tackle, but he thought for a second that it was intercepted and that was all it took for CJ to get away.

The Cards have a history of CB's who are right with the WR but they don't stop the reception. I don't care that PP thought the ball was picked off so he was distracted, his job is to ensure CJ doesn't take it to the house. It's my job to see if the ball was intercepted, I'm the fan following the ball. His job is to play his man.

I'll say it again, I'm thrilled PP is on the team. I just don't think he is Deion reincarnated or Revis or Champ Bailey at this point.

CJ is probably the best WR in the game and it is impossible to stop him for an entire game one on one. So YES PP had a very good game but there is no pounding your chest when you give up 2 TD's.

Every cb makes mistakes including those guys.

pissed me off. Even if dansby got it you need to tackle megatron anyway. Focus on yourself.

Beyond that he played great.

The problem with todays NFL is that if Dansby picks that and Peterson hits CJ on the spot he may have gotten a penalty.

I was telling everyone who would listen yesterday. If Washington is in the game and not Dansby thats not only a pick, but probably a pick 6.

Agreed. I think we win the Rams game if Washington isn't suspended. Dansby has been helpful, but he's a shadow of the player that Daryl Washington is.

Washington and Dansby together will be pretty good ILB tandem.

Athletically sure. But we can't be 100% positive Dwash would have jumped the route with the same instincts. Woulda been nice to fun out though.

Not much mention of Dansby on this board but they were sure calling his name a lot during the game. Sure glad he is back. He played a great game.
