This is positively 'goofy'.

Nothing matters at this point and everything is in play come September.

Your initial post was projecting the loss of Powers onto the upcoming season.

Try to keep track of your own thoughts.

There is no point arguing with him. He was convinced we could sign Geno Smith during the season while Smith was still in school. Funny, I am not sure what was more absurd, thinking we could sign a college kid while in school or that Geno Smith would be any good.

Future- Manziel- The hype is real. Johnny Football is the next great one. Hes extremely accurate. Hes a major scramble threat. His game elevates when hes under pressure. Hes hard to take down. His decision making is outstanding. Good arm. Good character. I would gladly tank a season to have a shot at him. 1 final bad season for 15 amazing ones full of possible Superbowls. Worth it.

Im ignoring your desperate pleas for my attention. You do it too often BC all you do is argue. I will have a civil discussion, but I doubt your ability to do so.

Keep in mind nor was he a great CB. Why? His diabetes had yet to be diagnosed. Surely his ST play was also affected.

Its fair to say if today, elite CB PP played STs again, hed be elite again.

His diabetes issue was only one season, he has played 5 seasons. This is not an accurate assessment.

That's absolutely not true. His diabetes hit him extremely hard and thus noticeably in 2014 but to say it had no impact in the others is just silly.

When you have an untreated long term condition it just doesn't pop up overnight.

It was diagnosed subsequent to the 2014 season. Had he had the disease in 2013 it would have shown up in blood tests prior.

That was my mistake, but the statement stands in regards to the talent between Bethel and BW.

As for his infallibility, that's in reference to so many members on this board praising every move Keim makes w/o question, when there have been plenty of bad moves mixed in with the plenty of good moves.

example:

Letting Powers walk.

Their argument: "If Keim makes the decision to let him walk than it must be the correct decision".

Until we find ourselves in our current situation with 3 hurt starters and are now are forced to have pure rookies taking 1st team reps. Powers was a very serviceable starter who signed a reasonable contract with Balt. Shouldn't have let him go. 100% mistake.
so we should have given power 5 million a year when his best role is nickle CB where honey badger plays?

its a good question, pp21 has one good year as punt returner of 5, only one season was affected by diabetes so to say thats why he cant reutrn punts is just wrong.

FTR, there is a multi quote button.

No, who said that? I never said give Powers 5M. I said we should have resigned him. Baltimore gave him 1 year $2M. Tell me Powers isn't worth 1 year $2M as we sit here with rookies taking 1st team reps.

We 100% need Powers veteran depth right now and his price was completely reasonable.

What part of the decision to move on from Powers at seemingly any price don't you understand?

And what exactly do you KNOW that BASK do not?

According to him, it only impacted him the one season so I guess youll have to take that up with pp21.

So, you are saying that every year after his rookie year was affected by the diabetes that he didnt say impacted him until the 2014 season. sooooo, how come he was so good returning punts his rookie year? How come he only had one bad year at CB?

This is all absurd at this point, it is obvious that to you, not a single word you have said is wrong in any way shape or form so there is really no point in discussing it further.

...apparently I don't understand any part of it.

How is Powers not worth 1 year $2M?

As we sit here on 8/3 wishing we had a vet CB...

I know there is a multi quote button, the conversation was developing faster than I was reading it.

You make the mistake of thinking Keim is infallible.

Plenty of bust draft picks. And that Bethel extension isn't looking too great right now either.

You make the mistake of thinking you know everything with a superior airs about yourself in relation to Keim... but that is ok because a forum allows you to believe whatever you want, I just believe in the current quality of our roster in comparison to other teams :)

I think Powers fate was sealed when he refused to help others & wouldn't be a leader on the team. As for Keims infallibility I think he is pretty much on par with the rest of the top GMs in the league. No GM hits on every pick. The consensus in the league suggests that Keim is one of the top GMs. Would you rather have Graves back?

Bethel is the man and will prove to more than he is making. IMO he is worth it now because he has won us games with his ST's play and will be a very good #2 CB.

Powers was a solid player for us but as cardcubfan posted his fate was sealed when he refused to step up as a leader. BASK are all in for this year so if they don't think they needed Powers or Freeney then yes, I do trust their judgement.

Late in Monday’s practice, as the Cardinals went to move between drills and the portable water stations were supposed to come with them, there was an accident. In an effort to quickly grab a water station — which includes a bucket of ice and Gatorade bottles — one of the equipment interns tipped it over. Ice spilled all over the 50-yard line.

Tyrann Mathieu, who only can stand on the sideline right now while on the PUP list and rehabbing his knee, went over to help all the equipment guys help clean it up.

Mathieu wasn’t the only one — other players helped, including injured rookie Robert Nkemdiche — but it underscored where Mathieu is on this team. Here’s a guy who is a star. He’s one of the faces of the franchise. And there he was, getting ice off the field as best he could.
