If the bar was too high because of BA.... Wilkes set it to a level where Mutombo could limbo beneath it while heavily intoxicated.
I agree. Also #1 pick and cap room.
You’re fooling yourself if you think lame duck GM is not a factor in the best candidates’ analysis of which jobs to pursue. But I’m sure if any of them pass in us you’ll find reasons why they weee going to be terrible here.
You're re-framing the question. Is this job good compared to being a forest ranger? In many respects, yes. But how desirable is it compared to the other 31 jobs? I say it's in the lower 1/4th.And the trump to all of this, even if accepted, is that there are only 32 of these gigs and they pay multi-millions.

Still, only the Cincinnati Bengals finished below the Cardinals in the NFL insiders’ combined ranking of the open head coaching gigs.
Bidwill said the cardinals are attractive cause they have talent on the roster and the qbotf
probably others see something different
at this point Rosen doesnt attract anyone
Playoff team, yes. Not championshipAnd who did he inherit it from? Can I then point to Matt Patricia taking a 9-7 team and turned it into a 6-10 team? And what did that 13 win Cardinal team turn into the next 2 years? I'm not saying it's impossible but depending on the team. Also, I never said it would take 5 years to turn a team around but are you guys saying that this must be a championship team in 3 years or else?
LolIf you mean "in Phoenix", then yes.
And then he got a nationally embarrassing DUI, was suspended during training camp, and admitted himself that he needed to win this win. Of course MB is going to say he loves Keim right now. He has to. But you keep drinking everything the cards feed you . . .I think you are fooling yourself if you think we have a lame duck GM. Bidwill loves Keim & just signed him to a huge extension.
Which makes perfect senseNot what I was responding to ("Firing a HC after just one season ... may very well cause candidates to not consider the Cardinals.") but Bidwill sure seemed to dispel the notion that Keim is on the hot seat. I think Keim will last as long as the next coach (if he doesn't turn the team around) or longer (if he does).

I know several people that also had DUIs and I agree with you, they really cleaned up their act. I also have no problem giving Keim another chance to fix the roster. I prefer him than bringing in a new GM. Just my two cents.I know MANY great people that have fallen prey to a DUI. In most cases, it was the best thing that ever happened to them. They cleaned themselves up, got back in the saddle, and are even better professionally than before the DUI took place. Unless MB is lying, Keim has done everything asked of him in regards to the DUI. I'll take his 49-30 record prior to the 2018 season & see if he returns to the form that earned him 2 Executive of the Year awards.
Ok keim got another chance to redeem himself and fix the damages he made with draft and free agency
But my concern is about bidwill
Did he keep keim cause he trust him or just because he doesnt want pay another to GM?
He kept him because of the cronyism that has ALWAYS been a part of the Cardinal franchise. The Bidwills are loyal to a fault to some of those in their employ. It's an admiral trait but can also cause years and years of problems, i.e.-George Boone, Rod Graves.
Keim is a part of their "family". It will take quite a few years of bad, losing teams for him to get fired IMO.
