I'm not going to jump ship to another team, i'm just not too hopeful about this years team. I used to be a glass half full guy and tried to stay positive (Drink the Koolaid), but I seemed to have turned the corner. I know in a few threads, some of us have talked about how the interest has faded in recent years.

I'll still check the box scores, but i've found myself less interested in the suns and the NBA in general over the last few seasons. I enjoy talking Suns basketball, and visiting the forums to see what's being talked about, but I wonder if this season will frustrate a lot of us.

I think if you look at the team honestly, it's not too promising of an outlook. I'm hoping something will click and they can play a little defense, but we know that won't happen. I think many of us are frustrated with management (or mismanagement, actually). We had a great team that was close to being a contender, but we couldn't get over the hump. Now it seems we are headed for a time of average basketball for several seasons.

I'm wondering where everyone else is at on this, and if you feel the same way, or are just as die hard as ever?

If your an optimist, let us not so optimistic guys know why we should have hope for this season. :)

Just as die hard as ever.....I"m a 49ers fan I've been following a below average team for the past six years.

I don't jump ship when times are bad. I'll watch this team consistently even if they are cellar dwellers. The only change is that my expectations are much lower than seasons before. I expect this team to be at most a 7th or 8th seed. Nothing more.

Hell, I still watch the D-Backs most of the time. Gives me an excuse to go to the gym and watch them on the treadmill, stair master or the elliptical machines.

My interest has always been there, and will continue. The past 3 years it has been harder to follow them as much as I'd like because of growing job and family demands. I've still managed to catch about every game.

Looking forward to watching them play this year, even though the expectations are lower.

It's harder to follow them outside Phoenix when they're not doing well because they're not on national broadcasts as much, but my support for them won't waver. A team can be losing but have interesting stories of player development. I loved the Barkley years as much as anyone else, but the improving years leading up to them were the most fun, IMO.

I'll follow the Suns closely as always, but due to family, work, and school I probably won't be able to catch very many games on TV or in person. Watching a fringe playoff team on the decline is frustrating; I would have preferred they blow up the front office AND the team and start over. But I'm not a fair weather fan and will follow my team no matter what happens.

I watched when they won 29 games.

I suspect I will watch this season. If nothing else they should be entertaining.

I am super critical of the Suns but it doesn't mean my loyalty will change or how close I follow the team. I am extremely critical of this team because I care.

I cant really imagine myself a fan of another basketball team. I will continue to follow the team. It will remain a fun team to watch, and hopefully the FO will make the right moves/trades to make the team relevant again.

I'll watch. I like seeing guys develop. I just don't think we will make the playoffs this year.

Do you think Andrew will watch any games that we aren't playing the cavs? I guess we atleast don't have to hear about all the different Internet feeds and when they go down. Andrew.......you will be missed

I will watch, but with lowered expectations and raised level of frustration. I like basketball, and the NBA is where the highest level of competence is played.

HOWEVER, I will probably watch more than a normal amount (normal for me) of OTHER NBA teams... just so I can see better teams.

Watching every game because I'm hoping they'll surprise us and turn out to be a pretty good team. I'm always a optimist so I think that's what will happen.

If Nash had left and we had entered into a rebuilding phase, I have to admit I wouldn't be planning on watching nearly as many. Not because my loyalty would be less, but just because losing is boring.

I'll still watch every game. There is always something to get excited about, even if the team is to struggle, like the occasional upset of a top tier team. But I am not willing to concede that this season will be as bad as last year or worse. I expect that improved team chemistry combined with lowered expectations will allow this team to have a successful regular season again.

I'm a Suns fan through good and bad times, just as I have been since 1970. ('Doesn't mean I can't be critical of their decisions.)

But I will cringe every time Amare has to be our biggest player on the court.

Health (eyes and knees), fouls and time on the bench when he's needed at Power Forward, shying away from defensive contact . . . cringe, cringe, cringe. :thud:

I'll watch every game I can. Surely, there won't be a championship this year, but watching Nash, Hill, Barbosa, J-Rich, Amar'e is always entertaining.

I'm looking forward to see how Earl Clark fits in as well and secretly dream of eliminating the 1-seeded lakers in the first round ;)

Ill still be following them as closely as I can from Australia... maybe a suns game once every three weeks.. (Thank god for nba.com) But, I would've rather watch the suns completely rebuild around stoudemire, than watch the old guys onb the court.

IMO, the suns should look at what the Thunder have done. they have made smart tardes, and been great in the draft... and look where they will be ina few years... A champinship team.. Suns shuld roll the dice and try something like that.. (When Sarver finally sells the team)

It's going to be hard to get interested until after football season, IMO.
