On Tankathon and Lottery Mock Draft Generator, the 6'ers keep making out like bandits. As it stands right now, the Lakers have less than a 50% chance of keeping their pick. This draft would be so ridiculously exciting if we still had the Laker's pick.......sigh.
Ugh every once ina while I forget that we should have that pick and not Brandon knight.

The latest from Lavar Ball. he finally confirmed that Lonzo "popped" his hamstring in the first half of the UK game. Yahoo reported it the day after the game but this is the first time anybody connected has confirmed it.

And he confirmed it in an interview where he said UCLA lost because the injury prevented Lonzo from taking over and "you can't win no Championship starting 3 white guys, the footspeed is too slow."

Keep in mind Lonzo's mom is white.

Oh well, Lonzo hired an agent, it's not Lavar so hopefully the agent will convince Lavar to lay low for a bit.

Lol this guy is too much. And I wouldn't trust anything he says. If he says Lonzo was injured, I need another credible source to believe it.

I do not trust the father either. There should be some independent confirmation about the injury but I have not found it.

Realgm reporting that Lonzo would rather play for the Lakers than be drafted first.

NBA Draft: Kansas' Josh Jackson reportedly 'gaining traction' as potential No. 1 pick

Funny story about how I don't pay attention to draft prospects: I watched the NCAA championship game, and I thought that North Carolina's Justin Jackson was the "Jackson" who is so high on the boards. And he sucked in that game, so I kept thinking, "This guy is a potential #1 overall pick? What the hell, he's completely disappearing!"

So much for his competetive spirit. I mean that is something a loser would say. Only way I could defend that is if you are a die-hard fan of the team, but the team in question being the Lakers magnifies the stupidity of the statement.

No fanbase wants to embrace a guy who, announces on national tv that he would rather get picked by the most unlikeable of all NBA franchises than being the #1 pick to another team.
He is either as stupid as his father or a diehard Lakers fan. No thanks on that.

I hope some non-glamorous team like Detroit wins the third pick and picks Ball.

Good thing we have McDonough in case we draft #1 and the Lakers #2 or we are #2 and they are #3, he might be sly enough to play Magic like a fool and extract a fortune from the Lakers while getting Fultz in exchange anyway.

Lavar Ball is full of ...

Lavar Ball Interview

What did he "confirm" ? He made excuses that is all and of course blamed Lonzo Balls teammates once again like he always does when something is not going well for his son.

When has Lonzo ever "taken over". It is one of the biggest criticisms about him that he can't take over when his team needs him to score 20.

Lonzo Ball got obliterated by Fox, if anyones footspeed was too slow it was Lonzo.

You know what would be funny as hell? If the Lakers got, say, #3, and passed on Ball for Fox, or Tatum.

Yahoo reported it right after the game. During the game a reporter I know reported Lonzo was hurt, but he was asked by someone at UCLA to take the tweet down. He didn't know it was a hammy though he had posted it was apparently a groin injury.

My guess is they didn't want to create the impression he's injured going into the draft but obviously if he was it's going to be found out.

This is where actually watching the games would come in handy. You would have seen him COMPLETELY dominate the 2nd half against Cincy that had one of the best defenses in the country.

If you watched the UK loss he was either hurt or he's in the wrong field in LA, he should be an actor, because he was limping the entire 2nd half. Tracy Murray who does UCLA radio said on live radio when they came out for the 2nd half that the UCLA players looked very down and he was guessing it was because Lonzo was visibly limping during warmups for the 2nd half. The UCLA boards I read(2 of them) were discussing it about a minute into the 2nd half because of how he was moving. Lots of people thought he was hurt but UCLA had not confirmed it, Lonzo said he tweaked a hammy it was a direct quote in the Yahoo story.

And again, I'd rather have the kid who's willing to lose while playing hurt over the kid that sits out to protect his draft status.

Too bad Lonzo....Too bad. You go where you're drafted and you stay put for a loooong time

Suns get #1 and choose Jackson.
Lakers at #2 choose Fultz.

Now, that would be funny.

Sorry, Dan. Just read your post. You beat me to this idea.

After watching more Josh Jackson material over the last week I have warmed up to him.

In terms of roster fit it certainly looks like Jackson would be easy to fit in. Wish he cut that afro.

I agree about that. I was at the Minny game and Jordan Hill's hair was downright comical. He had it pointing up straight off of his head and then flopping, Elfrid style and had to **** his head at a weird angle to keep it from flopping in front of his face while he was shooting. I do think these hair styles sometime interfere with their game. That's where mgmt has to say something. It was kind of like this, but the bun flopped from side to side forward and back as he moved his head.

Below is a tweet from Doug Haller.

I feel much the same.
Its beginning to look that way. My fear would be that Ball will try to force a trade if not drafted by the Lakers (ala Eli Manning). That would be the Markieff situation x10.

To me. The safe pick is Jackson. Then Fultz. I like Ball. I think his game would be a fit for this team, but this off the court stuff is getting out of hand.

If the Suns should be in position to draft Ball, I want the Lakers to pay for it big time. They deserve each other. Of course the Suns must be sure they get the player they want.

Maybe some other teams wants Ball as well who will pay a premium for him.

I have switched to your side of this equation. I have Ball 3rd after Fultz and Jackson.

At this point you have to worry that Ball doesn't resign with whomever drafts him and demands a trade to the Lakers. It is just too much of a headache.

What made me more positive about Jackson was going back watching older material. I did not know how well he handled the ball for a small forward. I had not seen the smoothness in his game in the Kansas games I have seen. Still I find it a little suspect that he is already 20 and in some cases he was playing against guys 2-3 years younger than him.

If we ended up with Josh Jackson in the top 3 and Jordan Bell from Oregon at #32 that would add a lot of tenacity and nastiness defensively.

But how do we become at least an average 3pt shooting team?

You pick the best player and best fit. Do NOT let the inmates run the asylum. Thus far all the noise is coming from his dad. The new rules make it much more difficult for a player to force a move or to move from the franchise that drafts them. What's he going to do, threaten to play overseas? Good luck with getting the Better Baller Brand up and running.

I suppose the question for me is how important is age as apposed to experience? As it is true that Jackson is a year older than most of the other freshman prospects he also has virtually the same amount of basketball experience as them.

Except this last thing about wanting to play for the Lakers over being the #1 pick was from Lonzo.

That is a really bad sign
