Maybe, but fans won't love a player who previously said he would rather go to the Lakers than being picked #1 by their team.

Just pass, if anyone saw the SNL parody on Ivanka Trump "complicit". It fits like a glove on Lonzo, he is complicit to his fathers stupidity.

Yep the Cards fans hate for Fitz, who wanted to play for the Vikings, has been obvious the whole career he's spent in Arizona.

not.

The more I think about it the less I care about Lavar Ball. I think he'll soon be irrelevant and Lonzo will be fine. The only thing that potentially worries me is if he gets involved in contract talks.

From Lonzo's perspective his best fit is the Suns not the Lakers. Going to a team where you don't have to carry the offense and get to play with a franchise SG surrounded by athletes. Plus Earl is probably a good coach for him.

I think we'd agree he's the most complete scout, whether he's the best is definitely open for debate...

*cough*...the NBA Draft Power Rankings game...*cough*

More on this to follow..

I used the word, "might" so there is room for debate. :)

Personally I like to watch college players in actual games to get a feel for their talent. Unfortunately about the only time I watch them in this manner is in the NCAA playoffs. Stats are fine but I still want to watch them play. Video clips are often misleading.

Once I know where the Suns pick, I hope to view some game film.

The players I like the most right now are Markelle Fultz (haven't watched him play), Josh Jackson , DeAaron Fox, and Jayson Tatum. Lonzo Ball is in the mix as well but I am not enthused about the Suns drafting him. Lauri Markkanen might be a good later pick if the Suns trade down.

Someone on another board said Lavar will be too busy next year going after Alford for not playing LaMelo. Then he also has a high schoo coach to rip. He can't be in three places at once.

I hope we get the second pick the Lakers would pay a kings ransom for Ball and so would the 76ers. I only hope Fultz still goes one because the guy I want is Jackson.

I think Boston needs a SF more than they need a PG. I would be surprised if they pass on Jackson.

They just drafted Jaylen Brown last year to be there SF and he's looked good. Hopefully they don't draft Jackson honestly I'd be mad as heck with Fultz or Ball

That's the word I'm hearing. I think if Fultz is their for the Suns it would be a coup for us fans. Then use all the powder the Suns have to get another rim protector.

not.

He never said he wanted to play for the Vikings. The Vikings weren't even picking anywhere near the top of the draft that year. His dad was a sports reporter who covered the Vikings and he was a ball boy for them.

His dad was good friends with Denny Green who used to coach the Vikings and was coaching the Cardinals at the time of us drafting Fitzgerald

That's a completely different story. I think it could get very ugly in Westwood.

If Gelo had a different last name UCLA doesn't acknowledge he exists let alone taking a commitment but you gotta do what you gotta do to land Lonzo.

I think another reason Lavar wants the Lakers is so the family is in one city. Phoenix is the next closest in proximity.

I wouldn't be surprised if Boston used that pick to grab an in his prime disgruntled star to round out their team and make them a bona-fide contender... maybe grab a Paul George? I think you put him on that team and they are pretty damn legit.

I've been listening to some NBA guys talk and they say LaMelo isn't really good at all

That would make sense.

Hard to say as he was only a sophomore in HS this year. I mean how good did Lonzo look as a sophomore?

He is a high school sophomore. But this kid was in a zone this game. His last 3, all five players from the other team are guarding him and he barely gets open and throws up a 35 footer and it goes in. The 8:00 mark to the end.

LiAngelo Ball starts at UCLA next year, LeMelo is the youngest brother and is still a few years away.

I can see Fultz and Fox being the first two PGs drafted. It's hard to know if the Suns want to go PG or SF in the draft. Probably Tatum would be the safe pick if the Suns draft a SF. So much depends on individual workouts.

LeMelo has showed some talent in HS, he had that big 93 point game that got people talking. I'm not saying he'll be a good college player but at least he warrants college attention. I haven't heard a thing about LiAngelo though, good or bad, which doesn't bode well for UCLA. I feel for him though, being the middle child in that family.

Lonzo was much bigger and already had elite handles. He was also dunking with ease. I think it was the summer before his Sr year where he became a top-5 player nationally.

Ha. I think he meant starts, as in "starts his college career" not starter on the team.

Phew!
