Locking up the #2 odds makes us very very likely to have at least the #4 pick and an unlikely chance to have the #5 pick.
Being top 4 guarantees us Fultz, Jackson or Tatum or maaaaybe Ball.
This is super important, outside of the top 4 is a steep fall off. Monk is a bad fit, Smith and Fox would spell the end of Bledsoe and might not turn into substantially better players than Bledsoe if even as good.
Fultz can slot in all our lineups. We could play Bledsoe/Fultz/Booker as a trio, we could play Fultz/Booker or Bledsoe/Fultz or Ulis/Fultz or Ulis/Fultz/Booker.. Fultz is big enough and skilled enough to play the 2 as well as the 1, Booker has ok size to play some 3.
Ball, Smith and Fox don't offer this flexibility, drafting them would spell the end of Bledsoe immediately and would force us to find a trade right away.
Tatum could play with TJ Warren in the frontcourt as a forward duo or with Chriss. Or all 3 could play together with Chriss at the 5 and either Tatum or Warren as a 4.
Jackson similiarly although I see Jacksons versatility more so in guarding 2s than playing small ball 4. But Jackson/Warren/Chriss could also play together or Jackson/Warren/Len etc..
Fultz, Tatum and Jackson are by far the best fits for our core.
