Early 90's

I used to play soccer for a non professional team called Phoenix F.C.

I got interested when a sports TV in Brazil started to show some NFL games, and there was a Phoenix Cardinals.

That's how I've got into this mess...

Anyone surprised at how few new fans (2000s) there are posting here?

1988 for me.

I was a Cowboy fan growing up outside of Dallas in the 70's. Moved to Kansas City in 79 and became a Dolphin fan because a friend of mine was a fan of the team.

I moved to Arizona in 87 and gave up on the Dolphins for the Seahawks so I could support a west coast team.

Cards came to town the next year, been a fan ever since, and always will be.

Go Cards!!!

1999. I didnt follow the NFL until I got divorced and grew a pair. D-Dogg was a fan by then and brought me up to speed.

"Chicago" Its an old Cherokee word for long suffering.

Duck was this back in the days of black/white TV when all we got was the Bears thrashing the poor old Cardinals? That's when I started rooting for underdogs, have all my life.

D-dogg got you hooked on the Cards, and you call me a jerk. Sheesh.

Still few relatively new fans. Only 30% since the 1990s/2000s I wonder why?

Maybe because long time fans are more likely to be outside of Arizona and more apt to look for information on the internet?

Or maybe a lot of new fans would rather lurk and just observe the guys who know what they are talking. I don't have that problem--I have no real understanding of anything yet jump into the discourse willy-nilly.

I moved to the Valley in 1996. I've been a Cardinal season ticket holder since 1997.

Since I grew up in New Mexico, my choices were the Cowboys, the Broncos, or the Cardinals. In the early 90's, I decided to root for the underdog. I stand by my choice.

about 1984/85 when my mates dad came back form the states with a Redskins shirt and helmet for him and a cowboys one for his brother. the game was getting big over here then and thought i needed a team so i picked the one closest to my football (soccer) team Sunderland's colours and thats how it began. Little did i know the two clubs would follow the same form for the next 20 odd years of abject faliure!

but its a love supreme and just just makes the good times even better

Became a casual fan when I moved here in 93. I’m still more of a NFL fan than a Cardinal fan, but I started following them more closely a few years ago.
