He was a rookie you know? 12/7/2/1/1 in 30mpg about what Gortat did for the full season this year.

sure, but that's pretty much what he did again this year... and since you're the Gortat puts up stats but makes no impact... how much impact did those numbers make above for the Grizzlies? oh that's right... NONE. And we all know that bringing in Gortat's stats for the YEAR is ******** considering that Van Gundy never plays anyone but Dwight at C.

Lopez averaged like 14-15 ppg for a good run before the back injury..

no he didn't. the best run he had was one 12 game stretch where he averaged 12.9 ppg... and that was on a team where there were a ton of options that defenses needed to focus on... you know, like Amare, Nash, Richardson. and still, it was 12 games... and then in the next 8 games, his numbers dropped to his usual level of patheticness as opposed to Gortat who numbers weren't just consistent for 55 games, but they actually got BETTER as the year went on.

Lopez also had a 30 point scoring game against one of the better centers in the league, something Gortat hasn't.

one game 30 points of points against Chris Kaman proves nothing more than a complete and utter fluke and to argue it's not a fluke when considering for the entirety of his career he's scored 20 points would just be stupid. And when did Kaman become one of the better centers in the league? His career averages are 12.4/7/1.4. I mean good lord you play fast and loose with the fact so that they can fit your ridiculous narrative.

And Tony Delk scored 50 points in one game...they call that a fluke my friend.

I've noticed that every post extolling Lopez is about offense.

Not defense. Not rebounding. Or team leadership. Or demonstrating the mentality of an adult rather than an adolescent, particularly on the bench.

Just scoring. Four, six or even eight baskets in a game. That right there emphasizes Robin's NBA shortcomings.

LOL. You REALLY had to do some cherry picking there. You want to take that 30 PER and move it down to 15...what about 10? I am sure if you keep cherry picking the MPG you can make him look better.

Dude you can't even come up with meaningful stats that correlate with each other to even make your point. I am sure after people ribbing you about +/- you desperately were trying to come up with another stat.

Nice try but the evidence is stacked against you if you want me to summarize all the comparison stats.

It's not even close.

Lopez averaged like 14-15 ppg for a good run before the back injury..

slinslin....why do you always make statements that can't be backed up by facts. There was no such run and despite playing with a healthier Nash, Lopez still didn't put up #'s like Gortat. With a healthier Nash spoon feeding Lopez, he still doesn't compare to Gortat. Once again, blows your theory out of water.

Also, you conveniently left out his craptastic rebounding during that "good" stretch. Gortat is better than Lopez and it's not even close.

Lopez has posted double digit rebounds 6 times in 2 years. Gortat? 27 times with only 1/2 that time as a starter. Suns were a horrible rebounding team last year and this year yet Gortat was light years better and one of the best in the league.

Lopez has posted double digit scoring 40 times in 2 years. Gortat? 45 times in one season with only 1/2 that time as a starter. Again, Gortat one of the best in the league.

Gortat statistically ranks in some categories top 5 Post All Star break amongst true Centers. Not that I am saying he is top 5 but the fact he put up those types of numbers comparable to those guys says one hell of a run.

Slinslin it doesn't matter how many times you post +/- or some obscure cherry picked stat....the above says it all. If you look at what Gortat has managed as a starter it is downright amazing. Not all the proverbial covering of the ears and shouting "la la la la la" is going to change that.

I mean good lord you play fast and loose with the fact so that they can fit your ridiculous narrative.

Cherry picking? Not sure you understand what that is. Marc Gasol did play 30mpg as a rookie and put up those numbers already.

Sure I do. Cherry picking is coming up with whatever stat you can "cherry pick" to make someone else look bad. In other words, you choose not to look at all the other statistics that all of us have thrown out there over the course of your rambling about how Gortat isn't any good. You pick some statistic from somewhere out of the blue to try and prove your point while ignoring the rest.

It's the very definition of cherry picking.

Let me repeat what I said before. Would you like me to resummarize all the statistics that prove you wrong and compare them to the +/- or any other random stat you have used to prove your point?

Clearly must be true then.

Earlier in this thread you said "Ask any non biased basketball fan and they will tell you Gortat isn't a top 15 center"

So I did and not a single person agrees with you.
