They will start the year like 5-20, then will win like 10 of 12, and finish around 25-30 wins

20-25 maybe. Not much (young) talent to be excited about. I'll give them a chance anyhow when football season is over.

I think 20 is generous. 17 is my prediction.

And I wouldn't mind that a bit as long as it occurred as a result of trading away players for future picks. If it happens while this team is still intact though it means our future is even bleaker than we'd hoped. Nash still looks like the best player on this roster and if all we can win is 17 games while he's still here, it means we don't have anything of value going forward. I know we don't have much but we really need Gortat and Dudley to be good enough to start on a competitive team.

I'm going to hold out hope that we only win 17 games and we do that by trading Nash, Gortat, Hill, Frye, Dudley and Lopez for picks. That should free up enough salary to make it easy for Sarver to complete the dream and sell the Suns.

Nash will get traded or break down physically. One of those two is almost a certainty.

Grant Hill is playing like a 39 year old.

Sarver wont sell if the team is bad bc he will lose money. If the team is good he wont sell bc he'll be too busy taking thw credit.

Speaking of catch 22, I'm going to say 22 wins. Every other team will be dealing with the same scheduling as the Suns, and contending coaches will be resting players as they begin to lock down playoff spots, especially on the road. We may see 3-4 victories in Phoenix against teams the Suns have no business beating. But Nash is either going to have to rest or break down, too. And honestly, all of this sounds like it'll make for some pretty boring game nights...

The Suns won't always go 5-25 from three point range and may win a few games when the long range shots are falling.

I go with 23 wins.

I question the whole concept of outside shots falling. It doesn't happen to a player. He either makes a shot or misses it. The active voice, not the passive voice.

And it doesn't matter how good or bad a player is. The only factor that counts is . . . on a given night, is he better than his opponent?

Even if our shots "fall", so could theirs and we would be underdogs again.

IMO, this thing about changing predictions after the regular season games start is questionable. I'll stick with my prediction of 22 wins and go down with the ship. :thud:

I orginally said between 25-30... I am changing it just a bit, officially officially 21-25 wins

I originally expected low thirties but I'm changing mine to 3 wins. I figure both guesses will be well off the mark but averaged together I should be in pretty good shape.

I made a previous guess of .500 ball in another thread. Watching these first 2 games calls for a re-evaulation of the situation.

Nash is the only guy who can create looks for other players and we have almost no one who can score with the created shots... we need Nash to play 40 minutes a game in order to keep the score close and with his age and the compacted schedule the only way to preserve his stam would be to play him under 30 minutes a night...

I love the Suns, my favorite sports team, but things are bleaker than I can ever remember.

Im going with 14-17 wins. That number assumes a mid season trade of Nash and Hill because the Suns are already well out of contention. If they stubbornly keep both players more like 22-25 wins.

The Cards could reach .500 with a win Sunday:koolaid:... I'll bet the Suns don't sniff that

Unfortunately, I doubt the Cards will reach .500 either. But, I seriously doubt the Suns will sniff the equivalent of a 7 - 9 record either which I think is in the neighborhood of 29 wins. Actually, our best bet might be to see if we can match that 1 - 6 start the Cards had. It will take a bit of luck but I always look at the bright side.

This is going to be a long season (even if it is abbreviated)

Might exceed my expectations, after all.

How is your projection holding up?

I feared far worse and predicted 23-43. If they continue to play as they have over the last ten games, they might just sneak into the playoffs, after all. But as I know the Suns, they'll fight till the end and finish 9th in the conference, missing out on the postseason and getting a worthless pick in the draft. Reminds me of 2009 when they finally blew any chance with that stinker against the Mavs.
