I believe he would cost a 1st and probably a 2nd, maybe not in same year.

Would that be a better investment than gambling our 1st on one of the 4-6th QBs in this draft. I would think definitely yes, and would be on pho e with Vikings asap after new coach is signed and agreed with pursuing him.

Not 1 team in the league would pay that price for Keenum. I know Minny paid a substantial, and ridiculous, price for Bradford but at least he was a former #1 overall pick. Keenum was undrafted and is having a good year.

why would you give anything for a player everyone here assumes will be an untagged free agent in two months?

Keenam is a UFA.
Probably can't get 'em on the market. Last I heard, salary cap is about 13 mil this year. Don't think we could get 'em with that, not with the season he's having. Even Glennon got 14 mil a year.

To be fair, Cassel had 1 decent year with KC to go with his 1 decent year in NE, and Schaub had a few good years with Houston but yeah, no more 1 year wonders.

If the Cardinals hire Pat Shurmur and he wants to bring Keenum with him as a bridge to a young QB, that's the right scenario. Without Shurmur, signing Keenum is a moot point, imo.

Yep, this.

There is no reason we should give up any kind of draft pick for Keenum though. Even if the contract is too rich, keep him moving.

This.

Do the major surgery, do what’s necessary to get the QB you love in the draft, and stop putting band-aids on a gaping wound once and for all.

Finding another Warner or Palmer is route for me to get 4-5 years of stability to ride out this defense and David Johnson.

Alex Smith through trade fits that bill with Shurmur as HC? I would give up a 2nd or 1st rounder for Alex Smith.

I think Alex Smith will fetch that in open market. Trade a first rounder for certainty? oh yes
I would not trade a 4th rounder for Captain Checkdown who won’t lead you anywhere unless you have a supremely stacked team let alone a 1st, but that’s just me.
