Okay, many will disagree and curse me... probably.
But, I like Stoudemire and all, he is Suns franchise and all-star caliber big man.
Hypothetical... or atleast maybe a scenario in the near future.
Hoopsype.com has a exerpt from a "team insider" that Suns will not let them be held hostage by Stoudemire, if he isnt happy in Phoenix.
Anyways, if you HAVE to trade him... what scenarios would you pick.
And be realistic.... Stoudemire for Howard or James etc.. or Chris Paul etc.. are out of the question.
My likely or possible scenarios, and bare with me didnt really account salaries, maybe sign and trade or fillers.
BOBCATS:
Emeka Okafor
Raymond Felton
NETS:
Vince Carter
Brook Lopez
MAVS:
Dirk Nowitski
BULLS:
Gooden
Hinrich
Deng
HAWKS:
Horford
Williams
filler
HORNETS:
West
Pick(s)
WARRIORS:
Wright
Belinelli
Jackson
Pick(s)
BLAZERS:
Aldridge
Fernandez
filler
Any others?
The idea is obviously to still be competitive with the current roster, but change focus to Nash and O'Neal. Add a Carter or a Nowitski with that and it sounds enticing, fits the team structure at the moment also.
Knowing also, that in 2 seasons, a HUGE amount of salary space is available. The team can re-structure easily, hence trade scenarios that involve young players (Brook Lopez, Brandon Wright etc) comes handy.
thoughts?
remember, a hypothetical... and if simply Stoudemire HAD to be traded.
