How many games have the Dbacks won in a row now?
In spite of, not because, of Bob Melvin.

True. I agree. In spite of, not because, of Bob Melvin.
Bob Melvin said:"It's going to come," he said. "I'm certainly not going to panic. These are our guys. We feel like we have a chance to get better as the season goes along, and I still believe they're all going to hit."
Bob Melvin said:"Anything can change, but if you look at Triple-A and what we have there right now, these are our guys. We made a lot of difficult moves last year to get these guys here and get them experience . . . but these guys are all going to hit. I really believe that."
Yes, but how much permanent damage will be done to the potential of a group of young players while the good Managerial candidates are vying?Well, thankfully there are plenty of candidates vying for Melvin's job which makes things somewhat more assuring.

Outfielder Carlos Gonzalez, a top Arizona prospect, recently learned about Gibson's powers of observation after hitting a routine grounder and running like a fourth Molina brother. Gonzalez later received a visit from Gibson, who calmly inquired if his leg were sore (the answer was no), then posed a hypothetical question.
"If that ball takes a bad hop and bounces three feet to the right of the guy, are you out or safe?" Gibson asked. "Because I think you're still out."
In his next plate appearance, Gonzalez ran as if jet-propelled.
Its blatantly obvious that Johnson had nothing left in the seventh. He faced three batters without retiring anybody, his stamina is still a fraction of what is usually is and he has been plagued by the long ball so far this season as well and you think he should have stayed in? If Melvin did that he would have blasted for that too...Melvin is the dumbest manager. He takes out Randy and brings in Medders, a righty who has given up 5 home runs in 15 innings. That move allows Ryan Howard to pinch hit and Medders gives up a grand slam. If this does not show management how dumb Melvin is, nothing will.

I knew Randy was gassed but he Slaten warming up and ready. Why bring in Medders and not Slaten to keep Howard out of the lineup?
