I said this in the chat, and I despise Manu as much as the rest of us, but I didn't think that knee was intentional, nor was it uncommon in basketball.

The knee may not have been intentional, its hard to tell. But Manu's done enough in the past for me to hate him. Him and Bowen are both dirty players, and Duncan is a whining baby. I hate the entire Spurs team- they are all pricks.

The Alamo is stupid anyway.

I don't have TIVO to triple-check it, but it looked like he tried to create space with his knee, which is an offensive foul. It wasn't just the natural jumping motion by any stretch of the imagination.

That knee wasn't 'intentional' - that is exactly how he plays. I can't stand the guy. Can't wait for Bell to play him next time.

I have to disagree. That is a natural motion when you're trying to get extra height and your driving toward the rim. I've done that several times in pick up games when trying to get a little extra lift. One time I kneed some guy in the chest, the other time in the balls. It happens sometimes. I'm not an NBA player obviously, but your knee coming up like that is not uncommon.

If he was doing it to gain extra height on his jump then he shouldn't have hit Amare in the nuts. He was simply doing it to force contact and clear space so the defender is completely unable to defend the shot and he gets the foul call. He saw Amare there, he knew he could block the shot easily and he pulls that cheap crap that could injure a player. It would be just our luck if he ruptured Amare's nut or injured his groin so he has to miss games.

I don't think so at all, not from what I saw (although I wouldn't mind seeing another replay). It was unfortunate Amare got hit in the nuts, but I think that was just a natural basketball move.

I don't see how leading with your knee into the defender is any different from clearing the defender with your off arm, either way it should be an offensive foul.

Do you ever see Bryant or James or any other high flyer going for a dunk with his knee way out in front of him at a 90-degree angle? No.

I don't think Ginobili had time to aim for Stoudemire's crotch, but he was certainly extending the knee as a way of gaining more space.

That could be the case for sure, I would have no problem with an offensive foul (if that's what the rules state). I just don't think it was intentional.

That could be. I just know that I've done the same thing when playing without any intention of creating space or wanting to injure someone. Perhaps he was trying to create space, knowing his style of play, but IMO it was not intentional and not similar to his other acts that have hurt players (like Barbosa).

The fact that it was Ginobili is what makes me question whether it was intentional or not. If it was Brent Barry or Beno Udrih then I probably wouldn't think so, but Ginobili has a history of flopping and injuring players with his erratic and ridiculous play.

Amare didn't even do that much after the play either, he just threw out his arm and probably threw an insult at groinoseili for what he did and he gets T'd up almost instantly. That is some bs right there.

There was also where barbosa cleanly poked the ball away and flopper reared his head back as if contact was made, refs blew the whistle instantly.

Why not also bring up when tim duncan went up for a layup, marion cleanly swiped it, refs blow the whistle and the refs realizing how bad they were caught called it on nash..

Nice too that when diaw was fouled barbosa instead made it into a 3, take that refs..

The refs are always horrible when we face the Spurs. We did get to shoot a good amount of free throws tonight though, but we could've shot a lot more. I still say that anytime the Suns get a lead in a game, the refs immediately give the other team 3-4 calls in a row and that was pretty apparent when the Suns pulled out to an 8-9pt lead at the start of the 3rd.

DDT!

i would love manu if he's in a suns uniform
lol
Manu is a disgrace to the game of basketball. He would be a hell of a player if it wasn't for his ridiculous flopping and dirty play. It's one thing to accentuate real contact in order to get a call, but he reacts violently when there is no contact and gets the calls, he makes a mockery of the game.
