Upset of the week
Arizona over the New York Jets, 4:15 p.m.
Hey, I was going to pick the Chiefs to upset the Chargers, then I saw Kansas City was favored by 2½. Huh? The Chiefs are 3-7; the Chargers 7-3. OK, so let's go to the desert, where anything goes for Denny Green and his Cards. They're 3-1 here, with the only loss to New England -- and they hung tough in that game. Watching the Jets eke out a win over Cleveland last week convinced me they could be in trouble against an Arizona defense that forced 21 turnovers this season. The problem for the Cards will be controlling the Jets rushing attack; Arizona's ranked 26th against the run. Still, I believe the Cards force Quincy Carter into mistakes, force him to play from behind and do to them what they did to the Giants two weeks earlier.
Something you might want to consider: Defensive end Bertrand Berry needs one sack to become the first Cardinal since Simeon Rice in 1999 to have 10. Berry might have come to the right place: Carter's been dumped 11 times the past two games.
Scoreboard, please: Arizona 17, New York Jets 14.
