This what you are talking about Mike? This is a program in PHP to organize and show thumbnails and pics. It allows for user uploading of images too.

That looks like the way to go.

There is another one out there http://www.photopost.com but it costs like $150 whereas gallery is free.

Yeah I have never used Gallery, but I went searching for a program like it when I read this thread and found it right away.

I might actually set it up here at home, since we haven't really been able to show our wedding pics to our family since they all basically live either up in PA or out in AZ. Seems like a good way to organize all of them.

Hmm - I think I'll go install it on talk pets...see if it works. If it does, I'll post the link.

You need some stuff installed on your server first, and I've looked at this before, and didn't have the stuff installed, nor knew how to.

You'll need your host to do it I think. We can maybe try ourselves, I'd like to use this program, it looks pretty sweet.

Well I tried to install it, but my winzip is barfing at the Unix .tar files and wont even extract in on my PC.

I found another one...will try to install in the next few days...

Update - I found another one that doesn't need the special server software. I got it bare-bones working, but won't have time to configure it until this weekend.

Looks like a lot of features, but there is really no good documentation, and half the instructions are in German
