some of you don't even read before posting...AMAZING

HE WILL GET THE EXCLUSIVE FRANCHISE TAG! 100% bet on it - I'll bet ANYONE that thinks he'll get anything other than the EXCLUSIVE FRANCHISE TAG. I'll bet any amount of money you want...and I'll show up with cash....so long as you do.

It means he will not get to even talk to another team for 365 days.

put this to bed

and read next time

All you would be doing is negotiating the contract and doing the leg work for the Ravens, because they would match anything we could offer.

Given their cap situation, you could seriously damage their team in the process. Not saying we'd have any reason to do that, but someone like say, the Browns, might like the idea of forcing the Ravens to cut guys like Boldin just to keep Flacco by offering him more than he's worth.

But again, doesn't matter; exclusive tag.

Listening to Joe Flacco and Ozzie Newsome over the past year has got me thinking that Flacco will get the Franchise tag put on him this offseason. He wants a bunch of money, the team will be tight against the cap, and there is only so much time to negotiate between Super Bowl week and the start of free agency.

My question is, if this happens, would you offer the requisite two 1st round draft picks and make a top line money offer to Joe Flacco as required by the Franchise tag? He has his issues, but is also the big, strong armed QB that Arians has been successful with. He is young, a tough guy, and has seemed to elevate his play as his coaches have given him more. There are obviously no guarantees in the draft, and certainly no answers this offseason. Do you make an offer that could potentially make it impossible or at least very difficult to match?

Personally, I think I would and I am pretty sure the money could be worked out.

So, again, is two 1st round picks and 6 years, 90 million worth it?

Personally I don't think they'll tag him but if he were available I'd give that up in a heartbeat for Flacco. He fits the mold for what Arian likes to do. He's big, has a very live arm--one of the better deep ball throwers in the NFL--he can take a multitude of hits without getting discouraged and he's a chunk yardage guy. By that I mean his completion percentage was under 60% for the year (barely) but he was able to throw for chunk yardage all year long. Andrew Luck only completed 54% of his passes but Arians had him throwing big yardage (ranked 7th in the NFL in yards) and touchdowns and got to the playoffs in his first year. Imagine what Arians could do with Flacco. No price is too high for a franchise QB--we currently pay Fitz more and can't even get him the ball. Flacco is a winner, goes about his business and wins playoff games. Can't put a price on winning.

I agree---Flacco is made to order for BA's offense.

There is a greater chance of a large meteorite hitting the Earth within the next two minutes than there is of Flacco being available this offseason.

OMG why don't you talk about your chances to get a one night stand with the entire Cardinals Cheer Squad...while your best friend video tapes it just so the team can play it to start the 2014 season at every home game!

Both that idea and Flaco leaving the Ravins are the same.

There is roughly a 2 million dollar difference between the exclusive tag at a little over 16 mil for next year and the regular franchise tag which will be about 14 mil next year. The ravens dont have the money to begin with nevermind spending an extra 2 mil on the kind of tag they use. I see them just putting a regular tag on flacco because even at the 14m number they are still going to have to make several cuts and no FA spending.

Dude seriously!!!!
They are gonna cut anyone and everyone necessary to exclusive franchise tag him.
They will not risk a poison clause by another team.

There is no chance
None zero

I seriously doubt they use the exclusive tag it adds no benefit to them it would just be a waste of money if they cant extend him. No team is going to offer a contract that the ravens wont match. The problem with Brees was there would have been teams offering him the highest contract in the NFL. Flacco will not get that kind of money.

Guess u naver followed Steve Hutchinson?

Look up his name and 'poison Claus'

You left out how he was transition tagged and not franchise tagged HUGE difference and how no team is going to sign Flacco to a contract guaranteeing him to be the highest priced player at his position. You should have read it more closely.

I know this is a knee jerk reaction but I would give 2 firsts and a fifth for him right now. This dude is a legit top 10 QB.

There is no way the Ravens will let him go now and if they where smart they would hold on to Q too unless they think they can find a better replacement in the playmaker department and I do not think they can at this moment.
