It's silly. If Polamalu doesn't want to get pulled down by his hair, tuck it under his helmet or jersey and STHU, or cut them dreds.

Your braids are fair game, and I loved seeing him get tackled by them.

Bah. Hair doesn't matter. It should be personal choice with the responsibility falling on the player. If Polamalu doesn't want to be tackled by his hair then he should cut it.

How is this surprising?

The NFL fines players if thier towel is too long, or if their socks are uneven. Players can't take their helmits off on the field, not for safety reasons, but because the league is marketing the teams, not the players.

They aren't making players cut thier hair, which is what I first heard. The league is protecting their brand, which is primarily marketed at "Corporate America".

I don't think it's that big of a deal.

Go Cards!!!

EH....big whoop. To me there is a far worse problem in the NFL right now---discipline. I immediatly thought to myself...."ok, now what about the shootings and drug problems?" I mean, Pacman Jones actually has A SHOT at getting back in the league???? EXCUSE ME?

But by all means.....make sure guys like fitz and Troy P. have good haircuts. Geez

Agreed, but it ought to be his choice.

So you are Pro Choice then? I dont want to get this thread sent over to the politics board.

This hair is a hazard. It can poke someone in the eye and really injury them. It is no yellow penalty flag thrown at your peepers but it would still do the job.

I'm pro choice. :)

I wouldn't consider his dreds a hazard. Show me a hair injury. :)

Its even more silly to tell people they can't have hair like that.

Why? Corportations, Police departments, The New York Yankees, and many many more all have dress cosde standards and certain policies pertaining to how a persons hair can be. The NFL if they choose can too and I hope they do.

It's not a matter of "can," it's a matter of "should."

The NFL if they choose can too and I hope they don't.

What bearing does a player's hair have on anything to do with football or even being a good role model?

Have you ever been to a barber shop with an 80 year old barber with hands that shake. Hair injuries every day.

No I haven't. Thank goodness.

I'm not saying that others don't. I'm saying that it is silly and shouldn't.

No bearing. All it does is look like hell and completely unprofessional. It looks grungy. NFL player are professionals. They should look professional. JMHO.

Neither does the regulating of long hair. I doubt it does anything to the bottom line, so I don't see the need to change.

It's a safety issue. Or maybe it's just the NFL wanting to sell more jerseys. In either case, I think the regulating of long hair is a good thing.
