Kiper / McShay, in their latest draft, have HUGHES to the Cards at #26, and WEATHERSPOON to Nouvelle Orléans at #32.
I think there's too many teams looking for a guy like Weatherspoon for him to last that long.

Spikes was timed in the 5.0 range Wednesday at Florida's pro day. (Some scouts had him in mid 4.9's, others had him higher than 5.) That's extremely slow for an inside linebacker, even one that wasn't expected to run fast.1- Dan Williams NT
2- Sean Lee WILB
3a- Brandon Spikes SILB
3b- Okwasi Owusu-Ansah CB
4- "Red" Skelton QB
6- Marcus Easley WR
7- Michael Hoomanawanui TE
You named Kindle too. Was he gonna play safety?

Spikes is known as an instinctive, tough player. He's a classic inside linebacker for 3-4 teams, and there aren't a lot out there.
Before the forty time came out, the general consensus was that Spikes was roughly an early second round pick. We've now heard he could slip as late as rounds 4-5. ESPN's Todd McShay said Thursday Spikes could still go in round two or three.

With as talented as Spikes is, I really doubt he makes it all the way through the 3rd, some team will be smart enough to grab him. He is a very good pass rusher which is something not a lot of other ILBs can do. He is also very strong against the run and has great instincts...thats just not a guy that can fall past the third.

If the Cards want a good later round LB who could play WILB they should look at Roddrick Muckelroy of Texas. Good size and speed and imo every bit as good if not better than Washington of TCU.
Never really looked into him but I'll check him out, did he play MLB for Texas and would he translate into a WILB in the Cards D?
Brian I thought more of you than that. I know it's Karlos, I missed spelled it on purpose, get it " Carlos who?"
You know, we'd forget him and his name?
Too subtle?
Yes he was "MLB" for Texas but remember they play in the Big XII where they throw the ball on almost every down so he played more like Dansby in College than Hayes.

The cardinals now take the best available player regardless of position. Its why we have improved so much.

I like that draft but Dan Williams will likely be long gone before the Cards pick,1- Dan Williams NT

Good size and speed, where is he projected to go?
Agreed! This guy got overshadowed by Kindle's production, but from his coaches and fellow teammates, Muckelroy was said to be the general on the field and the defense' leader.
