select only one, they have to have been part of the Cardinal organization at one time or another and there is no one I can think of that would be more beneficial than OL coach Jim Hanifan

Ill go ahead and speak for everyone in the universe when I say Best Show on Turf era Kurt Warner.

x10000000.

Aeneas Williams + PP would be so sick. Possibly best CB tendem in the NFL.

I think we should bring back Tommy Knight and Starks, we would have the best always injured CB tandem in the league :)

Well, if we're adjusting for the differences between eras, I'd bring back Dierdorf. One excellent guy on the front line could make a lot of difference for this offense. Especially someone like Dan who knows all five spots.

Neil Lomax.

He was sacked 49 times in 1984 yet still threw for 4,614 yards and 28TDs and led the Cards to a 9-7 record. It would be 14 years before the Cards had another winning season.

Warner wouldn't last two weeks behind the current offensive line. For Lomax it would be business as usual. Sacked 110 times '84-'85 and never missed a game.

Joe Bugel to coach our O-line. He has produced many a good O-line, including when he was a head coach here.

My two favorite Cardinal would be brought back to form a lethal backfielsd combo, Ottis Anderson as the lead back and Terry Metcalf as the 3rd down back.

Warner has to be the first pick. But this is fun. Larry Centers was so fun to watch. Swann was amazing when healthy.

Id take Boldin back anyday!

Seth Joyner! Out of all the Buddy Ryan screw ups, bringing Seth in was awesome! His tenacious defense and attitude on the field was great, as was his ability to step in and play multiple positions. Having him here in his prime would have been sweet!

Lomas Brown (even though he started as a Lion) would probably be the biggest need.

I would love to see Eric Swann on a line with Calais Campbell and Darnell Dockett. Unstoppable front three.

Aeneas Williams is my favorite Cardinal, so I would like to see that.

Larry Wilson

Just so we could put Adrian Wilson, Larry Wilson, and Kerry Rhodes on the field at the same time.

I think that even with this line, having Anquan Boldin in his prime back in this offense would make it legitimate. Not awesome, but we'd score more than 20 points per game, which would put us in playoff contention.

The biggest problem that I see on film is that our WRs get pushed around a little bit off the line, and the QBs have struggled to buy the extra half-second it takes for the receivers to get back into their routes. If you push Andre Roberts back into the slot and put in Anquan Boldin into the lineup, I think that everyone gets much better.

Good point. I've been saying that since last season. You can really see it watching the coaches film. We often make the mistake of saying the QB held on to the ball too long when in reality there is no one to throw it to early in the play. Our receivers struggle more to get separation than the teams we've played from what I've seen in watching NFL rewind.

Of course you've probably seen something completely different. :D

I think the separation issue (being able to get away from defenders) is different than the issue that I'm talking about--getting off the press.

What I noticed watching the Buffalo film and some watching the Minnesota film is that our guys struggle to get off the jam at the line of scrimmage, and defenders were actively making contact to get guys out of their patterns. Fitz is better at this, but when he's lined up in the slot so often it's rare that he sees a jam at all.

But Early and Roberts struggle to get off the press, and that keeps the QB from being able to devlop timing to throw to them. Housler doesn't seem to have this problem as much.

I think that the separation issue is more of an offensive scheme problem. Our WRs aren't fast enough to run away from defenders for the most part, and so they're unafraid to jam them. But our receivers actually run pretty crisp routes. They're open coming out of their cuts a lot of the time. The problem is that the QB is slow to react to the cut and doesn't deliver the ball until the defender has caught up.

I don't know. There were an awful lot of pass plays vs Minnesota where no one was open. Even after getting off the press. I'm seeing a lot of passes having to be forced into tight coverage and QBs getting sacked as a result. Not much going on tonight so I'll watch some more. Wish the film were clearer on the wide angle shots.

I'm just not that enamored with our WRs other than Larry as many people are.
