I'd say not signing a DL guy, not signing a seasoned vet receiver, and not getting a new DB coach.

I'm not totally sure on this but I think Arthur Raccoon has the franchise rights to polls here. (you can check with Skkorp if you want) Have you checked this out with him, or gotten his approval on this? Has he given you your certification of successful completion of the "how to post a better poll" tutorial? ??

If I broke a "law" I did it purely out of ignorance.

Tangodancer, what three things would you change?

1. Sign Marco Coleman

He would have been our number one defensive lineman the instant he joined the team. A perfect replacement for Vanden Bosch.

2. Sign Alex Molden.

He's started at conerback in this league. Just as good as David Barrett. A good-as-it-gets replacement for Starks.

3. Make a move to sign Chris Bober away from the Giants.

Kendall belongs at left guard. The Cardinals knew about Garcia's suspension months before it happened. That's why they moved Kendall over during mini-camps.

With Oran's "noobie" poll posting, it may be a bit of a confusing thread. But Oran has hit on what should be, in my opinion, a "hot thread".

I'm surprised more posters aren't taking a chance to contructivly state what could have been done differently in the Cardinals off-season.

...and Oran, if you promise that you are not trying to use mind control on me, I will try and answer your question.

I'm not sure I can come up with 3, I am getting old ya know, and the old upstairs computer had a lot of gigabytes fryed in earlier years of ignorance and the subsequent hedonistic living....but I'll try.

Number 1 - I'd release Bill Grammatica and sign Tim Duncan. (I'm not aware that he's been signed anywhere else yet).


Number 2 - actually.....for the moment that's about it. I think most everything else will work out OK. I don't see any free agents that are going to improve the situation available.

Later in the season I'd be ready to resign Shelton, Barrett, and Thompson....plus anyone else eligible and deemed worth it by Mac/Graves.....at the appropriate time.

oops...see what I mean...I thought the question was "would you change" rather than the retrospective "what would you have changed."

I don't really want to go there. I can't change the past...no one can. All I can do is possibly change what happens now and into the future.

Right now, in that sense, I wouldn't change anything. I still think that Mike Bidwill, Mac and Graves are headed the right direction. Rome wasn't built in a day...that's only in childish storybooks.
They make mistakes, but they ARE intelligent men with a dommon goal.
They will overcome whatever mistakes they make.
That I do believe.

So I will not get too manic in the meantime, obsessing over every bump in the road.

I get enough exercise right now, without spending all that wasted enery jumping to conclusions, dodging facts, building straw houses, making mountains out of molehills, etc.

I realy don't understand why we have four running backs and one kicker who can't handle his duties. I would like to see three backs, Scobey on the squad, and get Duncan in for kick-offs. It seems like Mac keeps talking about the bad special ed. teams, but he refuses to single out Bill "Lil Ceasar" Gramatica. Sometimes I don't get it. Trying to understand the Cardinals is like trying to clap with one hand!
