Whisenhunt.

They had the players, including Kurt Warner, and the new stadium, and the new ways of doing business and all we had to show for it was 5-11, finding imaginative ways to lose football games, and an immortal Monday Night tirade.

100% Whisenhunt. There were so many reasons to laugh at this organization and turn down a job. This team has never been a favored destination for any coach. Also, the press keeps talking about the "sell" job Whisenhunt has done with the players since the playoffs started.

Mr. William Bidwill, He brought the team here from St. Louis based on a handshake agreement that he would get a new venue to play in. The temporary quarters in Sun Devil Stadium lasted far too long, and produced far to little revenue to accomplish anything more than managing to keep the franchise alive. Once given the venue that he had originally been promised, the revenue streams developed, and so did the quality of players and coaches that he has been able to bring in. He deserves ALL the credit, because he always kept his word and upheld his end of the agreement.

As a St. Louisan, I could not possibly disagree more.

Michael Bidwill. He made the conscious decision that this team would no longer be a laughing stock.

I am not at all surprised the second post listed was Michael. I totally concur, there are a whole bunch of others in the family photo but he stands out.

You may disagree but just remember he was smart enough..albeit it took a long time to turn of the bridge to his "smart" son and let him run things. My vote went to Michael by the way....as a St. Louis resident you must be thrilled with the DeWitt fiasco. I am a Cardinal baseball as well and I never ever thought I would see worse ownership than the mess the football team had while in St. Louis, but DeWitt and Co. take the cake...

Who was hired by Michael B.

Wisenhunt.

He turned down Oakland and was bypassed in Atlanta but was a hot coaching property and had the brains to research the job and realize they were on the cusp of getting out of the basement. Despite the records under Denny.

He accepted the job. Otherwise we might have Mike Sherman.

Mike B is a close second though.

Chicken Egg theory. Without the change in direction this organization took when Michael B. came into the picture Whiz doesn't take the job. The Cards don't have a new stadium. The Cards don't enter the modern era for player contracts. The Cards don't go after FA's. The Cards don't bolster their scouting department. The Cards don't..........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................etc etc etc etc etc etc.

Whiz is amazing and I couldn't be more thrilled with the job he has done. Who hired him?

36 years as a Cards fan and watching how this organization was run. No team sucks for so long because of bad luck. Leadership is the reason and Michael Bidwill is the change in leadership.

K - I'll raise you that Wisenhunt had to come in here and interview well. :)

Without him doing that we hire Mike Sherman and the circle of suck continues. Mike B was here before Wiz. Winning wasn't.

It's splitting hairs but I am sticking with my guy Wiz.....

I'm glad you added the smiley face because that was silly. Actually IIRC Wiz interviewed twice for the job because he didn't blow the Cards away in the 1st interview. After that 1st interview Wiz heard from several of his friends in the NFL and they told him that he really should consider the Cards job. These aren't they same old cards they told him. The Cards now have new leadership and are making a ton of changes to how they operate. Okay so I paraphrased and added a bit of color to this but it's still pretty accurate.

You know as well as I do that a franchise run so poorly for so long wasn't going to turn it around in one season, or two or even three.

It's splitting hairs but I am sticking with my guy Wiz.....

I don't think you'll find anyone who doesn't consider Wiz their Guy. Phenominal job, as good as any NFL coach in the history of the game. I Seriously mean that. Who hired him?

Mike and Rod.

No I am not joking.

Despite the fact that mindless people liek cheese think I am down on everything the franchise does I was maybe one of two people on this entire board that believed in Rod Graves. Chatted with him in Green Bay and he is not only a great front office guy but an extremely nice guy as well.
