He's got excellent handles for a Freshman in college but it's unlikely he'll reach Curry level. He can shoot, pass and see the court at NBA stardom level so I'd still agree he has 3 NBA skills in his pocket already.
I don’t mean to be argumentative, but pass and see the court are really a single thing.

I do not believe they can. He is slippery. He is also much faster and a much better shooter than Marshall. Young might not be the fastest guard in the league, but he is fast. Marshall was slow footed.
Here I disagree. He is not fast. He just isn’t. And he REALLY isn’t at the nba level.

I have a good feeling about getting the #1 pick. I had the same feeling about Rosen ending up in cardinals red. Were gonna pick Ayton at #1 and sign a big FA in the upcoming offseason. The sports gods are finally gonna shine upon AZ

We will find out at the combine. He is participating from what I understand. Young is in position to remove any questions.

If that's the case, opposing GMs will overanalyze Young and he will drop to a range that we can reasonably trade up for him. That's what I need from the sports gods. And if we get that, I won't even complain about the lousy job the parking lot gods do.

This is something ive actually thought about. It would have been a scenario i could see happening if the Milwaukee pick converting went through

And I think he has three. He is an excellent ball handler. Maybe you kind of combine that with passing.

Ah, good point! I tend to agree. Not sure I'd say it's "excellent", but it is certainly at an NBA level. I'd put the shooting and the passing above his ball handling, but those are semantics.

This seems to be a good reasonable article on him.

https://www.thestepien.com/2018/05/03/trying-figure-trae-young/

I just don't know about this draft. I would take Ayton first. But after that I think I have Young, Bagley, and Doncic pretty tight.

But I like Bamba and Jackson too.

I've been kinda leaning away from Bamba lately. I like his potential but I don't think we would have the patience to wait on him. Especially after the Len fiasco. Plus we can't afford to bust with this pick and Bamba has more bust potential IMO.

If McD went with Bamba it could cost him his job because his time is running out.

I'd be shocked if the Suns had Bamba in their top 4. Agree, the Suns need a player more ready to contribute.

I think that we, as fans, don't have a complete picture because we have zero ideas as to what their plans are with free agents and trades. I am pulling a random scenario out of my behind here, but for the sake of having an example, they could help Heat dump some salary by trading Dudley, Chandler, some other players on smaller and shorter deals, along with Miami's own pick or picks for Dragic and Whiteside. All of a sudden, they can afford to be patient with new PG and /or Center, should they draft one. Again, it's just the first example that popped in my head, so take it for what it is.

Agree the Suns have lots of options. I have no interest in Dragic or Whiteside but the example is well taken.

Yeah right. Under the right circumstances we could 'wait' on some players to develop. But a lot of things have to play out just right.

But based on what we know certain players in the draft are more ready to contribute right now yet still have high ceilings..aka..Ayton, Doncic, Young , and Porter. Bamba in particular (and maybe JJJ) still need more time...time we seem to be running short on if you are McD.

He just hired a next coach. At this point, he rides or dies with him and the franchise shouldn’t be expecting a new coach to turn the entire ship around in one year.

I wanted McD gone for just this reason but I think granting him the decision on the next coach means you have to see the coach through and since that coach is taking over the worst team in the league, that coach deserves a couple of seasons to raise a sunken ship.

Not to mention that players like Bama who are traditional C types who can’t shoot or defend on the perimeter are becoming obsolete.

Even a guy like Rudy Gobert who many consider DPOY candidate is getting shredded by Clint Capela, a mobile, athletic big unlike the traditional big and slow big man.

I do like Rudy Gobert a lot. I'd be happy if the Suns had either player. Mitchell and Gobert have really carried the Jazz.

I can hardly wait. Finally we can glimpse his future for the Suns first hand.

It would’ve been nice if his presser was on Wednesday after the lottery instead because I’m sure he’s going to get a ton of Doncic questions of Monday which will be pointless without knowing where the Suns pick.

Would have been better for entertainment purposes but having it Monday gives them easy outs when commenting about it.

Eh, it's a simple answer. "There are several very good players that will be available wherever we end up picking. We are not going to talk about the specifics, but we are confident we will end up with an outstanding player."
