We could argue this till next Tuesday im sure, but nether of us is going to change our opinion so I wont.

I know what your are saying. I don't want to be that negative fan and I defend the Cards to the death when fans from other teams rank on them(especially stupid Patriots fans), but every time it seems like they are turning the corner, something stupid happens and yes cutting your 3rd round pick when we are thin to begin with is stupid. I respect your opinion but we are going to have to agree to disagree here.

Also do you think that Whis had NOTHING to do with Buster being drafted?

According to Grave "...the buck stops with him" he said in the press conference when they promoted him and gave him a raise. Right after he took credit for Green's draft.

I am only applying the standard he set for himself.

CT is it not better to admit your mistake now instead of trying to cover it for 2 years or so? No one can argue that it isn't a mistake, but if you realize you made one, why not admit it and move on to bigger and better things?

LV, the only one arguing it isn't 100% RG is 100%. I think RG himself admitted it by allowing Whiz to cut Davis.

I agree with this wholeheartedly.

But at what point do you say 'enough is enough"? How many mistakes does Graves get? damn...

His fault or not...missing on draft picks is pretty common.

This one and the Wendell Bryant pick are the most obvious complete misses.

Antrel Rolle might be added to that list shortly.

There are alot of people (scouts/coaches) who have input...does Graves have a background that qualifies him to evaluate players or does he take the consensus of his team?

Who exactly is in charge of drafting up there and who was the scout responsible for Buster?

I think this year is it. 8 - 8 or better. MB doesn't have the patience his dad had and is willing to spend money to correct a wrong move (see DG).

I wonder if I should inquire more to this..

You two guys remind me of when he and I were running around together. The townspeople would gather up the women and children and keep them off the streets until we left. (especially the women):D

Again if we follow that logic how come Antrel Rolle is still a Cardinal?

I just pray to God we don't have a Detroit fiasco on our hands, with the ownership loving the GM because he's such a yes man, and he's the perfect company schmuck. We already know Graves isn't good enough at his job, whether some of you want to admit it or not. More importantly is whether the Bidwills will ever realize it, or if they will even care once they do.

Because someone picked at the #8 spot in the draft deserves more of a look than someone from the third round? You need to remember that this is Whiz's first year and he hasn't seen Rolle play before now. Maybe Whiz knows how bad the coaching was for the CB's and thinks that with a little encouragement from this staff, he is salvageable. Maybe Whiz thinks he can use him in a different position and needs time to see if Rolle can play that position.

We don't know, but I'll betcha one thing. Rolle will be gone if he dosen't perform up to Whiz's standards.

Ya, because Graves has total and complete control over the drafts.. He is the SOLE provider of draft picks.. Come on dude.. Its a collective effort for this..

George Boone a longtime fixture in the Cardinal's scouting department rejoined the team in 2001 after a nine year hiatus....Boone previously spent 24 years with the Cardinal's organization...

Perfect description of the word "fiasco". Anyone who has gone through the Boone years would have to think that RG is Jesus Christ incarnate.:D

I would agree, except Graves ASKED us to judge him EXACTLY how we're judging him. He screwed this up, he's getting blamed. It's just another bad move in a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong list of bad moves.

If that were the case he wouldn't be riding pine and not starting and inuendo's being thrown his way by the coach suggesting he may play safety. Whiz and co. obviously saw something they don't like in Rolle that's why he's sitting.

It sends a bigger message to cut a top ten pick. It means that no one is exempt and everyone must pony up. It's one thing to send a message that way, it's another to force out a rookie third round pick that was a depth guy anyway.

Are these not positive moves?

The more I see of the Whiz, the better I like him. I've seen a bunch of coaches come and go with this team, but the only coach Whiz reminds me of is Coryelle. Oh that it could be so-----------

Ok, so what right things has he done? Like 100% said, do you just ignore the good things? Or is everyone fixated on the bad?

That is not what he says...re-read my earlier posts. He says the DG drafts were his and that he has final say on all draft picks. Collective? yeah probably, but just like Coaches are held responsible for W/L records, GM's should be held responsible for draft picks and free agent signings.

I love Whiz. I wanted him since December. He made a good call, I just question Graves for putting him in that situation. FA was pathetic which forced them to draft for need. This is what happens when you draft for need.
