BA on RB David Johnson "I thought after he quit dancing and got out of the dance studio, he ran real well."
If you learn to play football and he run straight ahead, he's powerful and fast so he learned quickly not to dance."

DJ looked pretty good but didn't really do anything that any other NFL RB would do. I never get too hyped on a RB's pre-season performance. The good thing is he didn't look overwhelmed and that's about all you can ask from a rookie.

I thought he looked great after the first few plays. He's got a hell of a stiff arm.

He reminds me of Eddie George / Robert Smith (ex Ohio St and Vikings )

Cut high, kind of a long strider - and while can be physical, not the central part of their style

I get that at 225, we expect the guy to be a punishing power back -- but he isn't and likely never will be. I'm ok with that

I remember OJ Anderson-- a big back who had a similar style -- could be physical, but relied on moves and speed instead.
If he turns out to be half as good as any of those 3, the Cards should be ecstatic.

The key is yards. If a big back can make people miss AND punish a defender when necessary, all the better. It will get him more yards and lengthen is career.

Attempts - 13, Yards - 66, Long - 13

My favorite part about that is the 13 attempts in less than 2 quarters, while barely breaking a sweat. He may not run with the punishing style alot of people want. But he sure seems like he can handle the punishment of a full workload 25+ carries. Finally!

He's the second coming of Matt Forte.

He doesnt run with as much force (yet) but he reminds me of Adrian Peterson. Hell add muscle still too. Love this guy since Day 1 glad he got the burn last game.

Im guessing people will scoff at that suggestion but look at this run

Looks like AP to me from style and the way he hits the hole with reckless abandon churning for yards. That gallup at the end where he fights for 2 more yards is classic AP too.

Looking at that again, it looks like Fitz got away with a hold.

It's interesting that after DJ had his impressive outing, CJ2k goes from being 'out for two weeks' to suddenly feeling better and is now to day to day.

If only there was an ILB out there we could pick up to do the same for Fair-Weatherspoon!

I like what the kid has shown so far.... was worried at first but apparently somebody explained to him that trying to emulate Barry Sanders is not his job...in the NFL it is about one cut and go......once he started that he was pretty damned good.

This week against Oak. should be a nice test for him. I can see him getting 15 touches a game to start out with. It'll keep Ellington fresh and also implement him more on the slot, imo.

teams generally play their starters through the first series in the second half in game three.....seeing who gets most of the RB touches should tell a lot about who the team sees as the go to guy for the season.
but with CJ being day to day I would guess he will see some carries either way,...just to test his knowledge of the playbook if nothing else.
