I'm now watching this amazing live clip from 7/10/82 of Frank Zappa and Steve Vai performing guitar duo together to the song "Stevie's Spanking"... In fact... here's the clip:

It's amazing to witness those 2 legends together.. no mere words can express on how awesome it is....

Fair enough. Did they have an even bigger hit single? Wasn't there a band around the same time called Hooters?
I think Play Deep was the Outfield's biggest hit. Could be wrong on that count, though. I even think that song got covered by Jean Wycliff relatively recently for a movie soundtrack (which one escapes me).

The Hooter's had a couple of hits, but I the only things that pop into my head are "One Way Home" and something about zombies. I couldn't tell you if those are song titles or an album name or images from a video. Sorry.

And, to get back on track, I'm listening to "Africa," by Toto.

Jason,
"Play Deep" is The Outfields' biggest seller going to triple platinum (over 3,000,000 units) on 7/14/1999. The movie with the Wyclef cover was "50 First Dates" (Adam Sandler/Drew Barrymore). Also well done on The Hooters info! Whom also have a new release coming sometime this Spring!

Its hysterical that you mentioned the Hooters..... They in fact were the first band I saw in concert (back in '85)..... And guess who opened for them? Squeeze... haha.....

I was 8 then, so didnt know the connotation of putting those 2 words together... but now.... haha.....

Anyways... their biggest hits were "And We Dance", "Day By Day", and "All You Zombies"... However... the entire "Nervous Night" album was outstanding.. just too unfortunate they never approached the same commercial heights again, but then....who cares about being commercial? The true musicians out there never sell out...

"Rikki Don't Lose That Number", Steely Dan

This is awesome.... Love that band.... always best to listen to them during this time of year...especially while taking a long drive somewhere......

I discovered several more sites that contain full-length cds for sampling purposes, so I've been listening to more music than I have in awhile.... Right now have the Kinks "Face To Face" album.....

If anyone is interested in those links... I can PM you them.... It does work on MusicMatch Jukebox, but dont know what other software it can function on...
