Wow... Ironically I was listening to "Ocean Breathes Salty' moments earlier...

I'm mixed on their new release....judging from some of the songs Ive heard thus far.. it just seems they sold out to a certain degree...

wow... i was totally thinking the same thing. of all the bands in the world, they were the last ones i would've thought that would happen to.

"Dashboard" for example is too radio friendly....Also, it seems they copied off of the Stroke's "Juice Box"...

They compromised their sound to generate more airplay.... Usually, other Indie bands record a hit song in the most "fluked-up" manner... just take Folk Implosion with "Natural One" or Pavement's "Cut Your Hair".... I dont think either of those songs were recorded with the notion of becoming as popular as they did... However... again.. it seems that Modest Mouse are forcing out sounds which is just a travesty since they had a lot to offer..... Perhaps they'll fully overcome this....

This is why I'll never grow sick of the band Gomez... they never have pursued commercial success... never... the best band never heard...

Been listening to the Rentals..which features Matt Sharp, who was the true genius behind vintage Weezer.

KLL, I really need to listen to that whole album. I listened to a few tracks and wasn't impressed. But I miss the hell out of Sharp.

Its contingent on what kind of mood youre in while listening to "Return of the Rentals" because of how experimental it is......

Ive been watching this rather wonderful show recently that featured Blur performing with the Rentals, however, the most striking clip of all was Terry Hall of the Specials performing their hit "Night Klub" with Blur backing them... It's definitely worth checking-out...especially Alex Jame's bass solo:

"El Scorcho" by Weezer.

I'll admit, I despised this song the first time I heard it, but it grew on me. I remember my friends and I were driving around during a snowstorm and it made its debut on the radio. We were just singing along in the most crudest voices, but once I checked the lyrics out, I just fell in love w/it more, plus the chorus and hooks are catchy.

"Southern Comfort"

His best work bar none. This generations Al Green.

Oh and, Amy Winehouse.
I can't stop listening to this girl.
