It just feels like anything less than a super bowl appearance would be disappointing, so all these games will be stressful as hell.

One game at a time I guess...I hope this is a comfortable win, but feel like it'll go down to the wire.

Saturday can't come quickly enough.

I started and stopped making a thread on this subject a few times in the past week or so because I didn't know how quite to phrase it or how to put my complete thoughts to words. To be honest, to me anything less would be a disaster and a complete failure of the season.

Not nervous! This is the week Palmer's been waiting to happen. He'll get that playoff victory. It may not be easy, but the Cards are fundamentally a much sounder team than the Pack. The Cards won't let this one slip away!

MORE excited than nervous...

Trying to slow down and savor this moment...Lot of lean years in my 48+ of watching this team. Let me say this...While I know we all desperately want to win this Sat. nite and make our way all the way up to the Super Bowl...BE ENCOURAGED that this team has been built the right way and for the long-haul...the next 5-7 years, at the very least. So long as the mgmt. team stays in tact...WE WILL WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP...it's just a matter of when.

I honestly think the ONLY way we lose this game is IF we lose the "special teams" battle or turnover battle. We're the BETTER team...we know it...and the Packers know it.

Mark :)

Experiencing the looooooooongest week of my life! UGH! C'Mon Saturday!

I was. I am not now. Not even a little bit.

Sure the Packers might be motivated by the shellacking we put on them. However, the Cards want to put an embarrassing loss behind them too.

This is exactly how I feel. Yes, the Packers will want retribution for the beat down we gave them less than a month ago. But, I'm sure that BA rode their butts big time after the Seahawks toyed & mocked us on our field. Had we beaten Seattle, I'd be more nervous our overconfidence might be a factor. I just can't see the Cardinals playing consecutive crappy games. That's the silver lining in the Seattle embarrassment. If we lose consecutive games, then maybe we aren't as good as we thought. Super Bowl contending teams don't lose back to back games this late in the game. This game will tell us a lot about who we are.

Fwiw: I'm in the same mental state as three weeks ago--

A game with serious ramifications coming up again the Packers, who were coming off a win vs Oakland where they seemed to have gained momentum and righted the ship. I was nervous.

I'm predicting a tight game at the half, with the Cards pulling away in the third quarter.

yeah...I'll be pretty heartbroken if we don't at least get to the Super Bowl. If we lost there, at least we will have been able to... eh, I don't even want to think about that... or any loss the rest of the season.

I haven't had this level of expectation for a team since the Barkley Suns and every one of those losses (Bulls and Rox 2X) were just agonizing. The '08 team was such a shocking run, that there were no expectations. The full kick in the nuts Super Bowl hurt beyond words. The next season, I thought we had a fighter's chance but wasn't surprised when we got crushed by the Saints. But this year... we've had the entire year, the second half where I've fully believed we not only have a shot, but are a favorite. That's a completely different beast.

During the regular season, the Packers beat exactly 1 team with a winning record: Minnesota. And as we know from our experiences with the Rams, division games are unpredictable. They are an exceedingly average team.

The Aaron Rodgers Packers have been good for so long- I think everyone is conditioned to assume their "true" state is that of a SB contender, and are looking for any hint whatsoever that they are returning to form.

Maybe they are just a better than average team

Confident. I think there is a lot that Arians wasn't showing over the last few games - new plays, new looks, etc. - and we're going to come out like a house of fire in the playoffs.

But yeah, we're frickin Cardinals fans. Everyone is going to be nervous until that clock hits 0:00. You can see it on the game threads, we can have 40 points but as soon as we give up one TD everyone is like HERE WE GO AGAIN. It comes with the territory of watching us find every conceivable way to lose for 20+ years.

Didn't they only beat one decent team all year, Minnesota?

I'm taking it one game at a time . For the Packers game I'm not nervous . I watched the Skins -- Packers game and what I saw was the Skins Stab themselves in the leg , then Stab themselves in the stomach , then Stab themselves in the eye .

OH MY GOSH , Look how the Packers have gotten back on track , SORRY FOLKS I'M NOT BUYING IT !!!!!!!!

GEEZE! And you KEPT WATCHING? I'm most likely going to jinx myself but.....
this season I feel rather calm and trust the coaching staff and as a result the players to play a good game. I'm not sure if I have EVER felt that way about the CARDS.......HAH!

The '02 Dbacks were the last time the Phx area was in this situation. And then Gonzo went down. That was a kick in the nuts worse than the SB run. It would have been the equivalent of Fitz getting injured in the Seattle game.

The "experts" claim that the Cards have the "easiest" game of the weekend... We are supposed to be the biggest favorite out of the remaining games Saturday or Sunday... If THAT doesn't make you nervous, I don't think you've been a Cards fan for all that long...
