yeah... I won't get mad about not drafting a QB high... until we actually fail to do so. Glennon shouldn't be a factor there and if he is, Keim is an idiot. Until then, jury's out on that decision, IMO.

I clearly feel Keim is an idiot, because he's on record as rating Glennon highly, making me believe we won't target that high-slotted QB.

That's probably why he never takes QB's in the draft, because he knows he sucks at evaluating them.

We went 8-8 and have the #15 draft position - the price to move up is fun to fiddle with but Keim is not sure any are worth the price it would take- everybody projecting trades and crap like it is ever worth it - or sure it is worth it- I mean philly paid big, Houston paid big - both are hurt and back up foles won the SBMVP - every qb can go down as fast as Sam- but few can outplay him - while he is on

Really? You actually think Bradford is one of the top QBs in the league, even when healthy? Do you believe he's top 3? Top 5? That's where you're placing him, if few can outplay him, and that is insane.

I get it... and definitely fear the same. But I won’t go full darkside until it actually happens at this point.

if we went full darkside now (and we have more reason to than ever) it would be a very, very long 2018 season. i'm just cutting way back on my expectations and hope to find excitement in the development of some of the young guys

Yeah, well that could easily be a smokescreen, planted so that someone drafting just behind the Cards who wants to take one of the remaining QBs won't feel pressured to leap ahead of them. We all know what happened with Watson. Keim could be saying that to try to avoid it happening again.

Yes somebody just posted his stats at 99+ QBR - I think for the time in Minnesota - that would be top 6 - in a new system - brought in as an emergency after Bridgewater went down - that’s impressive to me.

Impressive what he did in Philly and what he did on bad ram teams - he was consistent, while the rest of the teams flunctuared. Thought he would be beat up out of the nfl as #1 overall draft choice on the worse team.

Dude can process new offenses quickly, prepare game plans, make every throw quick and accurately - has rehabbed best he can - doing his job and hoping for a franchise to give him an offense built around him - and wants some love from THAT teams fans -

And by god he is gonna get love from me - that is my job as a fan - I thank him for being a Cardinal - he had other choices at the Sam price -

Yes I think he will rank higher than Carson Palmer and be an upgrade - yes he has health history - but that die has been cast - he is now our QB until he is not.

We are lucky to have him, blessed - I don’t expect it out the gate, but hope they get by mid season

I'm scratching my head trying to think of any significant number of players who fit this description.

We got the best accurate qb in the market and very likely the best guard, so I dont see any reason for panicking

You do realize Bradford's knee is degenerative, and it is quite possible he will have issues again just going through training camp. There is a real chance he never even plays a game for us.
I am very hopeful that does not happen - but it is possible and it is very unlikely he is more than a short stopgap at best.

The guard - who we have not even signed yet - has a history of back issues, those tend to never really go away.

They should be viewed as what they are, extreme injury risks, that have just as much chance to fail spectacularly as succeed.

That's a good way of looking at it.

He got a medical check in Arizona and he signed a contract
Are they stupid to make a deal with a player with such of a issue or it was just an inaccurated speculation about the degenerative knee problem

Not necessarily stupid. I am sure they know what they are getting medically and that it is a huge risk, but they still felt it was the best option.

Just think that fans that think he will be the next palmer or warner, need to understand his knee issues make that very unlikely. I listened to a couple different Minnesota reporters this week that basically said if the Vikings were not seriously worried about his knee they would have stuck with him instead of signing Cousins, because they were very happen with his performance when he could play, but the Viking org felt they could not count on him to be healthy. They also said Bradford was at one point contemplating retirement last year.

Just saying, odds of his knee not being a big problem is very slim.

That shows, that he is only a stopgap, that Keim knows he needs a QB latest next year and that is good, because, we need a QBoF and not a retirement QB.

But wouldn't it be funny if Larry adds another 3 different QB to his resumee that threw him a TD? That sounds ... okay ... yes it sounds terrible for the cards but ... sounds like it will go down like that

Well expectations are low- I think he will blow them away - I think he is a damn fine QB - may be the best we ever had - chasing Kurt and Palmer and probably Lomax and hart- 13 win or SB loss - may be hard to beat - but our team has top sacker, cb, rb, wr - so if he adapts to whatever scheme Wilks comes up with - I want that and expect progress toward SB- but most expect #1 overall draft pick from what I read. :pullhair:

yeah. I just want a young QB out of this off-season. That's all I care about. Even if it ends up being one of the guys I'm super leery of at this point.

He just went skiing in Vail last month. I take it as Sam, at least, is feeling damn good about his knee. The only two times I've really hurt my knee was skiing and it should not be something you should be doing if your knee hurts or is weak.

We'll see. Nothing else to do now other than hope he catches some of the magic Palmer and Warner did.

The cardinals have not had me excited in a year and a half. I wonder if it’s just me who doesn’t get excited to watch the game on Sunday anymore. I can’t tell if it’s life or the cardinals are just crushing my fandom with mediocre off seasons and in season expectations that go as high as the basement floor.

If we can sign Jordan Matthews, I'll consider the Cardinals as moving in the right direction. No one knows what/when injuries will happen, but in FB they do happen, so, bottom line, you have to be lucky. That aside, we have addressed QB, OL, and maybe WR. In the Draft, I'm sure, on Day One and Two, we'll get our QBOTF, a CB, WR, and a TE. I had been thinking OL, but adding Smith and Pugh, and bringing back Iupati and Wetzel, lessens the need of using an early round pick on an offensive lineman. Will probably add one, late. Mason Rudolph or Lamar Jackson are the probable targets, barring a move up. Pretty sure that we take a CB, WR and TE with our next three picks, with only the order in question. JMO, but, as I wrote above, the team is moving in the right direction.

I was thinking about it a lot last night and I think o am more optimistic or maybe wistfully hopefully than I was earlier in the week.

I think our o-line is going to be eons better just judging by the dedication the team has had to it so far.

But most importantly is bag Mike. McCoy is NOT going to leave the tackles on an island and is going to use TE’s and 2 back sets with quick drops to protect the QB. I had forgotten that Gresham and Bradford were together at Oklahoma and I really like what McCoy can do with Seals-Jones and Gresham creating pretty big mismatches.

There are obviously holes to fill most notably at WR and CB2 but I think I am seeing the vision of McCoy’s offense now and I like it a lot more than I expected.

Great points -
I’m excited because Sam bradford is smart, extremely accurate, understands and processed several NFL offenses, produced good to great qb rating in each system, is 80 game experienced 30 yo first round pick with a chip on his shoulder - if it was not for his knee we could not dream of signing him! I’m glad he was sit after coming back in last year - no new damage - year to heal - modern medicine is good stuff manored - I’m gonna watch earnest goes to camp and get goofy about it - would love to get a rookie and Glennon to develope behind him - and trade that rookie or Glennon like pats, eagles and Vikings could.

I absolutely respect his no frills no promises presser- say it on the field Sammy the slinger- hope the team takes on Sams demeanor - and kicks AZ
