No wonder main stream media doesn’t see the flaws like we do.

In the playoffs too, dude has stepped up in big moments. If he relished running over weak teams in the same way that he brings it against the big ones he would be on of the top 3 or 4 bigs in the NBA, easy.

He is earning a max deal IMO. That dunk with Giannis's hand bent back is exactly what I want to see.

This is my favorite picture of DA ever. Call it the redemption pic after that block in the finals last year. This time it is going down one way or the other.

I don’t really see how he’s more valuable to his team than guys like Paul, Jokic, Embiid, Morant, Giannis etc.. The clutch stats are incredible but those guys are in a different pantheon (just Ja this year).

The article is about him being in the conversation. He should be. To me it's not about being MORE valuable than those other players. To me, the criteria is remove that guy from your team. Are you still in it? The answer is no. Yes, we might still be good but not where we are. I feel the same about Paul. Booker has hit so many timely shots when other teams go on runs or we need a bucket this season.

By conversion I’m implying they have a legitimate chance to win. Of course the award is voted on my the media who has blown it before (CP was 5th last year).

I thought Monty did get Coach Of The Year?

Wait... Tibbs got it last year? That’s ridiculous.
Suns didn't get any awards last year outside James Jones getting Exec of the Year and Paul getting All-NBA 2nd team. Booker wasn't even selected as an All-Star until they started with injury replacements.

I have to agree.

I don't think Booker's stats are MVP level. If anyone on this team deserves mvp consideration it would be Paul, because he most clearly is the most important factor to the Suns winning. We can play nearly as well without Booker, when Paul is missing we are far worse especially in clutch time.

I have to admit I don't like this best team automatically makes that team's players much more eligible for individual honors. They are suppossed to be individual honors.

I think he was voted by his peers as COTY.
He was and he came in a very close second in the Media vote.

Not really surprising, most media completely ignores the suns, but heaps praise on big market teams even though they don't deserve it.

Explain why the COTY may not have a job next year. That doesn't seem possible.
It's almost like they got it wrong.

Yeah, they did get it wrong. Coach of the Year last season should have been Monty.

I get it, but remove those other guys from their teams and they may not even be playoff teams year. We still would be.

if Paul is out an extended period of time, we'll see exactly how far Booker has come and if he's truly MVP material.
