If the Kings were to pull off both trades that were in insider..

Kings send Bibby and Hedo for Jason Kidd.
Kings send Peja and Bobby Jackson for #3, Camby and Ryan Bowen.

They would look like this:

Divac
Webber
Melo
Christie
Kidd

Bench:
Clark
Jim Jackson
Camby

Do you think they would be better? Their backcourt can't shoot, but a Melo and Webber combo would be lethal.

I don't know. Carmelo is good, but would he be better as a rookie than Peja is right now? I'm not so sure about that.

Kings send Bibby and Hedo for Jason Kidd.

I think this has no chance of happening.

Kings send Peja and Bobby Jackson for #3, Camby and Ryan Bowen.

In my opinion, the key to this deal would be Camby. It seems possible, especially since Divac is getting old. As someone pointed out, the Nuggets would be in a stronger position to sign FAs if they made this deal. They already have a lot of young talent and would do well to add some established stars.

I wouldn't touch Camby if I were them. I think both of those deals are pretty bad for Sacramento.

What about Jermaine O'Neal? Where is he going?

Houston fans on ESPN boards are going crazy making up all kinds of rumors sending Jermaine O'Neal and even Brad Miller in a sign and trade for anyone except Ming and Francis.

How is that realistic? That's like saying Gugliotta, Penny our draft pick this year and like 2 more future picks for O'Neal, Croshere and whatever other bad contract they want to throw in.

I think the second trade involving Bobby Jackson would be a god awful move for Sacramento. Jackson and Stojakovic are bargains for the next 3-4 years. I like Anthony, but I would be willing to bet he never ends up being any better than Stojakovic. He certainly won't be any better than him the next season. And Jackson is probably a top 10 point guard.

I also read an article today where Petrie said flat out he is not trading Mike Bibby for Jason Kidd.

I still think Bibby has room for improvement--he could basically become the next Jason Kidd if he works hard enough. Why bother trading him?

That is basically what Petrie said in that article. He said Bibby keeps improving and he is working hard, so why would they trade him? And the article said Kidd is not good at what Sacramento really needs - shooting.

Sacramento needs to try trading Webber+ something for a real superstar.

Webber, Christie, and Bobby Jackson for Garnett?

Does that work under the cap?

KG is making like 28M$ in 03/04 doesn't he?

I don't think Minnesota would be willing to trade KG for old players that aren't going to win a championship for them but will just keep them in the playoff race.

According to RealGM, yes. The salaries are a very close match.

I don't think Minnesota would be willing to trade KG for old players that aren't going to win a championship for them but will just keep them in the playoff race.

I think it is very unlikely that they would get a better offer for Garnett, even in a sign-and-trade. Garnett is overpaid and everyone knows it. In my opinion, the Wolves get the better of the deal I suggest. I'm not saying either side would do it, only that it fits the idea that SirStefan brought up.

The only real explanation I can see for the Bobby Jackson and Peja to denver trade is the opinion the group has peaked. The core group has remained constant for 4 or 5 years now, and the past 2 years they have come close to going to the finals, but just cannot get it done. They can blame injuries or whatever, but the fact is, they are going to start declining pretty soon. They cannot pay their entire roster, and Vlade is on his way out.

I see it as this:

The kings feel they can go no further, so they trade integral parts of their team now, while they are in their prime so they can get very good players in return in order to greatly shorten the rebuilding process.

Sound familiar to anyone? In essence the suns did the same thing. They felt they peaked, traded the best PG in the league (hands down at that point) for a younger player with a different attitude and the potential to be better. Everyone said what a horrible trade it was when it first was published, but now people see the point of it.

TRADE ACCEPTED

Due to Phoenix and Minnesota being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Phoenix and Minnesota had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Hey, RealGM accepts it, so that means we can do it, right? :p
