that their is no time like the present?

I'm extremely happy with the way the Suns are being formed. A solid nucleus is being built. Contracts are getting ready to expire. And, it's looks like we had a promising draft.

But, is our window of opportunity narrow? Or narrower?

Yes, we can look towards the development of Stouds, Marbs, Zarko, JJ, Jacobsen, etc. But, what happens if that doesn't develop? Or, players get injured? Or, other unforeseen circumstances?

Do we base our hope on the future? Or, does SAC and Dallas have the right idea in wanting to win NOW?

How long does management wait? Marbury and Stouds seem to be the nucleus to build around. Would you want management to be patient? Or, do you want to win now?

I actually believe that our window of opportunity hasn't opened yet. It will be fully open in 3 years.

Currently, I don't think there are (or were) any moves to make us a championship contender.

Our time will come. We just have to be patient.

Geez, patience, padawan, patience.

Everything you've brought up can happen to any team, yes, including the Lakers, Kings, Mavs and Spurs.

What happens to the Spurs if Duncan gets injured? The Lakers if Kobe has to miss time because of his trial?

Hypotheticals really aren't worth the hassle of deliberating.

I wouldn't rule out the possibility of being better than one of those 5 teams.

Our team is good enough to win 50+ games without having bad luck and surely those 5 won't all win 60.

San Antonio and Sacramento haven't really improved. In fact Sacramento might be worse than in the last 3 years. Minnesota could have chemistry problems and have many new cocky key players.

LA faces a lot of distraction, got a pretty old team and who knows if Kobe might have to go to jail.

Dallas - still soft but is the surest bet to win lots of games in the regular season.

The Suns are nowhere near a championship contender right now. If you look at who this team really is, they've won two playoff games in their history.

You might as well ask whether the Bulls should go for it all this year, before their window of opporunity "closes."

Besides, what moves are out there to make? No one on the Suns has any trade value, except for the three players they don't want to move.

What would happen if we signed two players to really big contracts because they used to be all-stars and then they spent most of their careers with us being injured? How would we ever recover?!?!?!?!?!?

I think we are a very young, and explosive team. We have alot of key parts.

I think we are a threat in the west. We may not be ready to win the whole thing, but I think we are only gunna get better and better.

If we keep this team intact, we should be ready to make a BIG BIG run the year Penny is off the books. Everyone will be veterans, and we will have some cap room to sign afew more bench players.

I think we are very close to being damn good, and are only gunna get better. Nobody better overlook the Suns...

I am not worried at all. I am very happy with the Suns.

They have the best PG, the best SF, and Amare Stoudemire who might be the best PF in a few years. They've added some depth with Barbosa and Cabarkapa.

Suns are loaded with talent, and they have a bright future.

The Suns tried the "Win Now" thing for almost 10 years. I might have worked but it didn't. Injuries were probably the biggest factor. But the Suns decided to try a new way of building a championship team from the ground up through continuity. That was one of the biggest complaints from fans - that the player turnover was terrible and there was no identity. They began the new process when they traded Kidd to Jersey.

Have patience. No one said this was going to be easy or fast. It might not even work. But I think the excitement of the team and the fans is higher than it has been for many, many years.

I don't know how we could be anything but happy with this team. We took the rebuilding route and our rebuilding lasted a single year, arguably 2 years.

How long has Chicago been rebuilding? Golden State? Atlanta?

I'd say in the grand scheme of things, we are extremely lucky to have a championship caliber team after only a few years of "rebuilding".

Teams like the Mavs and Kings weren't built in a year or two. They have been developing for 5 years or so. The Suns are getting ready to start year 2 or 3 this season.

I'm not really worried about the moves other teams are making. The Suns should be competitive and have a entertaining regular season. Lets worry about the playoffs in April. ;)
