Would he bring toughness and rebounding to the Suns, that they desperately need?

Elindholm mentioned this before. It's actually not a bad idea. McD seems intent on collecting assets even in free agency so I not sure how that would work.

He got 12 mil last year so what he'd cost might be an issue. He's played about 20 mpg for the last two years and missed about 15 games each year. The two years prior he got 30mpg with NJN, missing 14 game each year For his career he's averaged under 20 mpg and missed 20 games per year. I suppose that would peg him as a middle of the road rotation player. His rebounding rate has held up well throughout his 10 yr career as has his FG% and above average offensive efficiency. His defensive stats were quite good last year FG% against at rim was 50.8 and he challenged 9.8 shots per 36 - both numbers slightly better than Fryes and a fair bit better than Markieffs.

If 20 mpg is what he's capable of now he'd be a useful backup and he shouldn't cost over 6-7 million.

I think we will end up with Humphries or Ed Davis. Humphries (29) is probably a more productive player while Davis is younger (25) and still has some room to grow. I am not sure the age difference is significant enough to warrant the potential difference in production.

Doubtful, he only got that money because he was supposed to be used as salary filler in the Nets plan to trade for Dwight that fell through. I don't see anyway he gets near that on the open market.

I'd prefer Davis though, I think he has been underutilized thus far in his career.

I do, too. It raised a red flag when Memphis didn't pick make him a QO but McD ought to be able to find out the story behind that. If he's just soured from playing behind Zack or something like that, it shouldn't be a problem - heck that could be a plus. I don't have a lot of faith in the Memphis FO, so its more like a pink flag, IMO.

Some people have question his production in his first four years but if you compare them to Kris' first four years Ed looks a lot better. We might be able to get him for 12mil/3yrs while if Memphis had made a QO, the bidding could well be much higher.

I think he's a good fit for our team because he brings rebounding and defense, just what is needed to ignite the fastbreak. I've mentioned before his defesive stats from the tracking data site - FG% against 43.3, one of best numbers in the league - in case you forgot.

If he just keeps up the pace he's at we have another asset at a bargain price. The picture gets even rosier if he blossoms with PT...

If I had to choose one of them I would prefer Humphries because he can actually shoot very well. We play Davis next to Plumlee, and we are going to have the opposing big's camped out in the paint. That just doesn't work well when our offense is dependent on our guards penetrating, and neither Davis nor Plumlee have any semblance of an effective post up game. Honestly I wouldn't mind signing both of them if we could get them on really good deals.
