I'm not too familiar with the in's and out's of MLB contracts, is it possible to get Bynes off thebooks by cutting him from the roster. I'd have to assume its not and we'd have to trade him (and maybe eat part of the contract) to move him. Any insight you can give would be appreciated.

I'd love to see CoJack in LF next year with Tracy at 1B and HOPEFULLY dump at large part of Byrnes contract to put toward Hudson, Cruz and Lyon.

Not really. He is on the DL so he cannot be traded, two, no one is looking for a guy with his production making 10 million a year, three, even if we cut him it turns into a Russ Ortiz situation where we eat the contract, even if he clears waivers and signs with another team. We're stuck.

The dbacks made a mistake with that contract. Even if he had a year like he did last year. Cojack is a better player and he is showing to be adequeate in LF. We would have to trade somebody like Cojack or Haren for Peanuts and they would haave to agree to take Burns

Oh well, only two more years on the deal, I guess we just bite the bullet. Is it possible to trade him and agree to pay a portion of the salary for the remaining two years?

If I remember, Byrnes has a no-trade clause.

hopefully he can bouce back after some time off and recovering from the hammy injuries. If not I hope we don't fall into the "he'ss gotta start because we pay him a lot" trap.

He may, so it would be better if <the guy who was an absolute dog during the most important time of the 2007 season (!!!)>, uhh, oops, Byrnes recovers. Who knows, by the team he's really 100%, his contract could be over. He's still tight with the Bay Area, maybe one of those two teams can be convinced into taking him. Now lookit here, I say, that's a joke, son. Humor. :p
